ND must go for all the reasons allready mentioned. But for every who wants him gone, no one has put forward their idea for a replacement. Bring them on. I want Bluey Mckenna.

Mckenna for me too.

or O'Donnell...

If anyone watches Daniher in the coaches box each week, he gets so worked up and frustrated...he screams and hits the phone screws his face up into a little ball...

while this shows me that he cares about the club, and is passionate, i dont think we need a guy who gets so emotional and worked up in the coaches box. i would honestly prefer him to do less ranting and raving in the box, and instead look more controlled. For mine, Daniher is too emotional, and it contributes to him being out-coached...to often do i see daniher outcoached on match day

If it's so obvious Clint, then please explain this:

Melbourne 2007 season:

Long Kicks = 589, Total Disposals = 3458, % Long Kicks = 17.0%

Mellbourne vs Adelaide:

Long Kicks = 60, Total Disposals = 368, % Long Kicks = 16.3%

(stats from Pro-Stats)

As all of the MFC members in area noted on Saturday when the stats came up on the screen the most telling stat was almost 2 kicks to every handball by MFC!! Dont know what would have been in early rounds but bet it was a lot closer to more handballs than kicks than MFC was to winning a game!!

We have to go thru every coach learning the same thing - direct footy wins games on the G!! Balme Northey both experimented also but Northey learnt after almots a season on "kick the ball" being yelled from the MCC members! & guess what! After that we played in the finals consistently!

Would be interesting to see what the long and direct kicks stats were for the games MFC played at the G in 2006 compared with this year as I think it was 12 from 13 there.

Have you got a stat for long and direct kicks?

Look I think you've cracked football's equivalent of the enigma code there - it's better to kick it long to our guys than their guys.

The fact is that Melbourne played a much more attacking style of play. Do you agree?

We held our opponents to a season low total - maybe we played a better defensive game?

The best defense is a good offense.

Melbourne's highest scoring quarters (second and third) were also Adelaide's lowest scoring quarters.

Once Rivers, whelan and bartram get in there...and we drop ward. Our defense will be Insane

B: Whelan, Carroll, Bartram

HB: Bizzell, Rivers, Bell

Frawley as the backman on bench

Excellent point.

More control and planning in the few minutes prior to us hitting the lead in recent games, like having a plan to shut down when in front with 2 minutes left, would have seen us 6 and 4, and still a good finals chance.

The supports are the ones meant to go ape, not the guys in charge.

Poor bump.

Very late, off the play, low impact.

2 weeks reduced to 1 for an early plea?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
