Amazing what an academy and father son picks get you !!!ย

Still smart recruiting. No second rate scrubbers. ย Neale. Cameron. Daniher. Dunkley. ย Take note !!!ย

Absolutely Oscar McInErnery's energy in the medal presentation.

Pure goofy, loving joy.

Suspect that has been a big part of keeping the team upbeat during some rough early times.

Apparently he was very upbeat all week & didn't moan about his injury or missing out

Absolutely putrid grand final. Game was worse than the pre-game.

Polar opposite to Mills

That was my second life lesson, donโ€™t whine, feel sorry for yourself or give time being negative about something that you canโ€™t change. The Big Oโ€™s excitement during and after the game (especially for his replacement) was beautiful.ย

And the only other team to win from outside the 4 beat โ€ฆ. $ydney

11 players played every game. Consistency helps.ย

But they also had the depth to cover for McInerney, Coleman and McCarthy (plus Gardiner and Doedee).

Fantastic list management and fitness. Not a coincidence.

For Sydney, when the going got tough they fell apart and youโ€™d think the scars of 2022 has something to do with that. Their tall forwards are barely better than ours and they couldnโ€™t compete aerially against Brisbaneโ€™s defence.

All the more reason to believe that if we get some of sh*t together in terms of game plan (Bassett) is a nice inclusion, then we are right in the thick of it.

Last 2 premiers arenโ€™t absolutely dominant like we were and other great teams before us. Brisbane are still far from invincible in spite of a flag.ย

Personally, enjoyed Swans get smashed... again ๐Ÿฅฐ

It's a bad movie on repeat for Sydney.

The Buffalo Bills lost 4 straight superbowls in the 90s, by the time the last one came along the loss seemed a forgone conclusion. Are Sydney too traumatised with this group?

Well the only logical conclusion from this is that our boys need to have a wild footy trip, and a poorly managed WhatsApp group.

I thought we had enough of the media bashing us up.ย

If ever there was a year to do it, this was it. Such an even season. Top 4 made up of seriously flawed teams.ย

You could argue it was the worst top 4 in yearsย

Watching Brisbane today made me realise how bad our skills are at times.

Brisbane just run hard for each other and create space, they don't fumble and there forward line is open & they don't get in each other's way.

Happy the Lions and Fagan but worried about them when they add Ashcroft next year

They bat so deep. Blokes like Ah Chee are their 10-15th best player and is so skilledย

Could be the case if they lose another one within the next few seasons. But at the moment, I put it down to a lack of experience on the MCG and larger grounds in general. They also have a heap of flashy type players that play for themselves.ย

Four lost GFs in a row

How do you even rock up to preseason?

Fans must be in pieces. But they only have themselves to blame

Blokes like Heeney Warner Gulden completely choked on the big stage

Going out in straight sets for us two years in a row.

Yep.

At least we made a fist of it.

And came very close despite injuries at umps.

Swans have no excuse.

The most lackluster effort in a granny by any club for eons.

In it for twenty minutes then went to sleep.

Going to haunt them until they lose another.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
