2025 Membership

I’m in exactly the same situation. The club has been hopeless at forcing the MCG staff to protect the value of our seats, and so we’ve told them we need an upgrade (which we are happy to pay for) or we aren’t paying for reserved seats again.

This year I went to all our home games except one, and 8 times I had to move people out of our seats. It was ridiculous. The Collingwood home game was like sitting in the Collingwood members, and the MCG staff did nothing.

I wonder if you are the bloke with his family that sits next to me lol.

we had these 4 kids behind us that were pies supporters. M53

i buy 2 afl silver memberships each year, tied to the mfc, as well as my annual 'donation' to the club of a small membership

it used to think of it as my 'you've got my money, now win some games' membership back in the early 2010s when i got the afl memberships gratis, and i'm loathe to stop having it

it's gone thru various permutations, beginning as an interstate membership some 22 or so years back

love this club, will always buy a membership

Is anyone able to shed some light on when the 2025 packages (outside of MFC/MCC) will be displayed on the MFC website?

I called the club last week to ask when they go on sale. They told me 1 October.

They also said that was because of AFL rules or something, but other clubs seem to have their 2025 packages for sale already.

Yes, I'd also noticed that r.e other clubs appearing to have begun sales/advertising 2025 packages.

Kind of frustrating hey. Shouldn't be too long though.

Yep, it definitely is. I got an auto-renew for the presumably for little fella's membership which I will be rolling over, but there appears to be a significant price increase and I have no idea what I'm even receiving.

Yeah it makes it a bit hard to plan and ideally you want to square these things away pretty quickly rather than wait for rollovers or dates of price releases.

I guess it's not too long to wait but I kind of just want to get it done with.

i find it amusing that the annual cost of my membership is taken from my credit account on a monthly rate which is one tenth of the annual rate.

Membership have told me that no payments will be taken in September and October.

I had for years paid directly to the club then changed this to a monthly debit from my general account. This account was hacked and security methods put in place meant the card could not be used for remote payments. I have since opened a separate account with less security  and provide this detail for the club.

I would prefer and did prefer to make 12 payments ie one each month to match my fixed income. but the amount is so insignificant i am able to manage. probably would have paid the amount for 12 months to make a donation for the other 2. my previous practice apparently meant i moved to credit on my membership and extra intervention was required to move to a donation. Every year there was a phone call with an adjustment discussion. I now have less contact with membership people but have always found them to be friendly and helpful.

Anyone not renewing because they’re unhappy with board or management or a particular player is weak as [censored].

Financial reasons I can understand (although I would suggest downgrading to cheaper options rather than cancelling) but punishing the club as a [censored] protest against any individual(s) is childish and self-defeating.

I don't really care what you think really My opinion only matters to me

Sydney have their 2025 memberships for sale. They were advertising them today.

What the [censored] are we doing?

Members have been told to wait for the results of our external reviews to drop? They may then be consulted about buying a membership. Say end of October?

I've just got off the phone to the club to tell them, for the third year in a row, that I've never consented to, nor do I want auto renew. I get my partner and mothers memberships and we like to decide on our membership level a bit closer to the season when we've got a better idea roughly how many games we'll be able to get to. It's very frustrating and I'm not sure I will renew, pretty [censored] off tbh.

Surely there is some way you can estimate your no of games for next season by a full membership or is there a 5 game one that is flexible.?

You should know unless it’s too complicated after our fixture is released. Are you not able/ keen on night games?

Good luck but just get a season ticket is the easiest and it is a donation if any less than 5/6 can’t be attended.

Good luck !!

I notice the Digital Membership has gone up to $350 (which is what has been happening at other clubs).

I suspect Kayo have clamped down on this. I switched from direct Kayo subscription to a Demons Digital membership for a $120 saving this season.

How much is the Baggers digital membership? I've heard Collingwood's was $350 this year.

I think it was $280 this year but also going to $350 next year.

Reckon I will just go for Kayo basic from Feb next year rather than a club digital membership. I don't really use it much over summer, might have caught a Serie A soccer game or MLB baseball occasionally but not must viewing for me.

Then might just get a 3 game Dees membership in addition to my Blues membership instead.

Yeah sounds like $350 across the board next year.

Considering the same thing, I do watch stuff in Summer but can probably go without it.

Good job getting on board with a Dees membership as well 🙂

  • 4 weeks later...

Credit card got hit with $350 for a Digital Membership auto renewal today (despite opting out on the MFC app a few weeks ago). Called up and said I want to ditch Digital Membership (Kayo) and take a 3 home GA Membership instead. They said sure no probs and they will refund $200 in the next few days. Relatively easy and painless 👍

In the past, reserved seat members had until end December to renew. Once they happens the club can sell the vacancies.

However, just las week a fellow Tridents member was offered seats near to him, as he had a couple in different rows. So there are vacant seats available, suppose it just depends what area you are trying to get into….

Yeah potentially.

tbh I don’t care if I don’t get reserved seats happy to watch at home with my daughter but ideally we would like to get in to demons plus undercover. M52

will wait and see!

Thanks for the update

LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final.
