That roving running goal late in the game was much more difficult than it looked. Sprinting hard at the boundary about 35m out, and he's just snapped it across his body.

He's just incredible to watch

I can remember standing in the mud at Morabbin watching some bloke in long sleeves bouncing the ball with left and right hand as nonchalant as you like, being chased by three big Collingwood [censored], and blind turning them to a perfect delivery.

This is his calibre of a player, and I also think of a man.

I believe they were involved with the Father Son program at the club, but not sure if they still are?

gives him guaranteed certainty about his future until his career has finished, and until his eldest child is about to finish primary school

it won't stop the speculation but - like the trac and claz contracts - gives us some degree of control over the conversation

Yeah fair point.

Just my opinion, I know it slightly differs from the others.

Ultimately I'm for it and i think he's entitled to a payrise, I don't think it's unreasonable to be sceptical though. Whether or not people want to admit it Kozzie is still just a talent. I'd expect to pay a million a year to a multi all australian, averages 3 goals a game or goes into the middle and carves teams up regularly with 30 touches and maximum damage. I'm a little surprised to see such a unanimous response on this thread but DL is prone to throw up surprises 😀

Well find out will ya.

These journalists are an embarrassment to themselves. With apologies to Cal who’s pretty good.

Didn’t little Ralph tell me last week Kosi still wants out?

Pickett almost certain to sign per Ryan Daniels.

Wait but Kane Cornes says that our players clearly don’t love each other???

Weird to sign on for a decade if they all hate each other…I’m starting to wonder if maybe Kane is just a dumbass…? Surely not

Same. Completely changed the culture of thr club. Went from cellar dwellers to powerhouse club all thanks to Davey.

Yes.

Marley is down at boarding school here at Xavier College.

A friend of mines son plays in the same team as Marley for east Malvern last year and he said he saw him kick 6 goals in a game playing as a midfielder after kicking 5 the previous week. Said hes got genuine talent.

It's only early days and still a lot of water to go under the bridge but signs are looking positive so far.

Jason Taylor keeping close tabs on him.

Turned 15 this year.

these are the same f wits are saying that luke is now going to the cats. jacko, butters and juh all in one off season yea nah

Brilliant news

And to all those worried about the length and cost of the deal - I get it, but it’s just the nature of the market these days

Plus the CBA will be rising so these types of $1 million + deals will become more and more common, even for players who aren’t half as good as Kozzy

And if nothing else, it gives us control over any potential trade for the rest of his career (not that he’s going anywhere mind you!)

I’ve already been trolling. If he does sign I’ll go full attack mode on the LJ narrative just to stir the pot.

Jacko would need to take a pay cut now. I wonder if he’d be happy to be paid in crystals and good vibes?

I know a mad demon supporter dentist that can cover his bills for the next time he loses teeth again playing for us 🙂

We have no draft capital at all.

He'll be at the dockers next year.

We don’t have cap space either if this Kosi deal goes ahead. Isn’t Jacko on about a million a year?

We’d need to trade Clarry or Trac to make this happen in terms of draft capital and cap space.

Not happening.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
