It reeks of desperation, all these attempts by the club to keep him here. That interview was 3 old guys saying to Koz "see? Isn't it great here? You sure would be silly if you left!" I fear if we hold on too tight we might just end up driving him away

Nothing wrong with listening to your elders. This Club has a history of nearly 175 years. Koz is a big part of that.

Look at all the players who have left the Shockers….

Robbo is still sad about Hogan, as i am

Kozz will make his decision, hopefully the right one

“KOZZIE IS STAYING A DEE…..FOR LIFE”

click bait for some clicks🤪

He was still trying to get to Fremantle on the last day of trade period last year, according to Cal Twomey, I'll take his word over what a player's partner may say to fans at training

Really? I've lost my trust of all sports journos now.

Same here, Kat. However, that’s not the point Greg Schneider was making. He was clearly taking a potty at me, unless there’s someone else on here who has shared what they’ve talked about with Ardu at training. Again, this is the very reason I no longer relay any conversations on this forum, apart from S&Gs. It’s so disheartening to read these thinly veiled accusations of fabrication (either I’m a liar, or Ardu is). I’m so over it.

Her desire to stay in Melbourne has been corroborated by a couple of sources which includes @Ghostwriter @Katrina Dee Fan and @Dannyz . I trust their word on it before any journo.

When did cal say he was trying to get to freo on the last day of the trade period?

The question really is WHY did Cal say it (if he even did say it in the first place). And the answer is simple… good ol’ clicks and lots of ‘em.

I don’t recall anyone else reporting similar. Only a fool would believe that Cal Twomey was the sole person who knew Kozzie was trying to get to Freo on the final day of trade. It’s laughable.

I wouldn’t take this personally GW. However generally speaking anyone that is in the frame of leaving MFC is not going to give anything away to anyone including their partners. Perhaps not even to other team mates and club officials.

Everyone around Kozzy will want to play a straight bat due to the respect he has for MFC given the way we have treated and supported him while here.

If he plays his cards right, worst case scenario is that he gets us Dogga and 4 four first round picks.

You know other fans who’ve been told by Ardu at Gosch’s that her family is staying put in Melbourne? And these other fans post this on here? Funny that, I don’t remember reading any such posts.

Have a re- read of what I actually said, you’ve taken it as nasty for no reason, it has nothing to do with you personally. Twomey is about the furthest you could get from a click-baitey journalist, I value his opinion because I can’t remember the last time he was wrong, he’s no Tom Morris, so I believe him more than what someone’s partner is going to tell a fan at training, because, even if they were leaving, they would tell you they are not. Pretty simple, stop making a mountain out of a molehill

Kozzie has been on public around his level of home sickness and why its important for him to get back to Perth to visit his family.

I barely trust a journo in the industry but one I do is Cal Twomey. You ask insiders within the AFL industry and especially recruiters and there is a high level of respect for Twomey for his work and professionalism especially when it comes to inside information.

The guy does his background checks at an incredible length before he releases his info.

Bumped into a current player who's from up this area and one i had a fair bit to do with from Murray Bushies days. We spoke all things as well as the issues internally and Kozzie, trac and Oliver situation.

Kozzie didn't ask for an official trade but he did meet up with Simon Goodwin after the season had finished and spoke about his home sickness and whether there was a possibility of going home back to WA to be closer with his extended mob. Club was incredibly respectful of his wishes but also he was contracted and a trade would be incredibly difficult.

His manager then approached the club around trade week just to see whether the club had a change of mindset but there wasn't which Koz and his manager were fine with.

Both moved on pretty quickly and that was it. Club doing all they can to support not only Koz but family members that have moved down here to Melbourne.

My personal opinion is that I think there will potentially be another scenario at the end of the year where he'll approach the club to be then shut down due to his contract. It would take an almighty offer from Freo to turn our heads which then means he will see out his contract until the end of 2027.

I think the situation is being represented honestly by both Koz and the club. It’s a wait and see scenario that will, in my opinion, see him sign an incredibly lucrative contract with us. I have zero inside information.

I agree - let's all wait and see. I just hope he contributes to his best on Sunday - I reckon he's a little bit sore, but he loves playing in Alice. 3 or 4 goals and then sub him out.....?

Your original post has obviously upset @Ghostwriter. Your last post has done nothing, i would expect, but enflame the issue. This pizzes me off for two reasons:

  • Firstly, GW is a great provider of information, and DL would be a much poorer place if we didn't receive this from her. You have now placed this at risk.

  • Secondly, when you realise you have upset someone, intentionally or not, surely you apologise as a first step, prior to explaining that you hadn't aimed it at her. She may or may not believe you, but at least you haven't enflamed the issue.

I'm sorry to be preaching, but we need to be more respectful of each other, and their views, on this site even if we have an opposing view. GW is sensitive to certain comments because of the krap she has received over the years, and you've been here long enough to know and understand that.

Yep, no rivalry at all.

To the contrary, its terrific there's two good dees pods and i reckon they compliment each other really well as they are both a bit different in style.

All power to the dee brief team (by the by it's a great name for a dees pod)

I agree it is different but even if the weather in WA was the same he'd still want to go home because Melbourne isn't his home.

His hometown is Quairading in WA where he grew up and where his family lives. He frequently refers to it as his "home" and a place with a lot of fond memories. I don't read replies or reactions.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
