I’m not on Insta or Twitter (I recommend it) but I assume it’s his food based stuff?

if so that’s been his release and escape from the drama

Can’t remember, but it wasn’t food.

Can’t expect people to buy “that’s his release”. He’s doing it for the money, football is his primary source of income.

We can agree to disagree.

It's starting to sound as if his career is in doubt.

Reality is that we don't know the extent of the damage, we may need to wait until January to get a more clear picture.

Wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't start the season.

This emphasises the fact that he won't be traded, there's still a lot of uncertainty about his mental and physical condition.

I heard exactly that. That it wasnt so much about leaving Melbourne but whether he would or could play at all again.

If that's the case then he should keep a low profile I think. No need for media interactions, just recover mentally and physically.

Wait until January.

This season can get in the [censored] bin.

Get well Tracc.

He is a human being loved by friends and family first and foremost.

Football commodity is way down the list.

I really hope we haven't seen the end of the Brilliant Christian Petracca as a footballer. Get well soon Trac and can't wait to see you back on the G.

If that turned out to be true, I’d go as far as bringing in a witch doctor and doing some serious anti voo doo ceremonies.

To have 2 of your top 5 players medically retire by the same club in 2 consecutive years  is just unheard of. Doesn’t happen.

Listening to the goody presser it’s very clear Tracs only commitment to the club is his contract and he has likely indicated he wants out.

Assuming he 100% wants out and demands a trade to a big Melbourne club….

Who Says no?

Dees Recieve: Houston, TDK, 11

Dees Give: Trac & 2025 F1

Carlton receive: Trac & 37

Carlton Give: TDK, 11, 2025 R1

Port Receive: melb 2025 R1 & carl 2025R1

Port Gives: Houston & 37

What a surprise. Every trade deal Sam McClure comes up with involves Carlton, because that's the team he supports.

We'd have rocks in our heads to trade Trac for Harry McKay. Curnow is another matter, but they'd have rocks in their head to trade Curnow.

We do. No need for us to pay Trac and a future 1st. That rates trac as effectively Houston and TDK, if we imagine our pick next year would be about pick 11 but possibly lower.

I see Houston’s value as a decent first round pick (8-12) and TDK as two firsts.
Valuing Trac around 3 first round picks.

TDK and Houston are two perfect fits for our list.

We then hold a serious draft hand with 7 and 11 and still hold Sydney’s 2nd pick plus currency from ANB.

We could head to the draft and do a mini refresh of the list or we could even dangle those picks for another prime mid to replace Trac.

Bring in a fit Clayton Oliver next year that team would be looking very strong

Trac for TDK and Carlton’s first and future 1st in a heart beat. Perfect ruck/fwd and will be one a future ruck star, better than LJ.

I wouldn’t waste any picks  on Houston. if Trac leaves, we will have to turn over that list in a big way. Target athletic types with kicking skills. Don’t need the contested bulls anymore. Game has changed. Windsor is the perfect template.

The only young top end talent we have is Windsor and Kozzy. JVR still a question mark. Every other young player McVee, Rivers, Howes, Kolt, AMW will be depth / role players. Will bob up and play a great game now and then, but will not be the top 4-5 you build a premiership team around.

We should have sold the farm for Reid in the draft. He won’t come to us now.

We have 2-3 years to get this right or we will  go nowhere for the next decade.

He’ll make roughly double from non-football-related social media than he does from his football contract this year.

What have I missed in the last 24 hours??

Two days ago things were settling. Yesterday it was announced he would appear on ch7 pre-match (which was a completely weird way to break silence) and then he renege and now Sam Maclure is spouting cr*p about him demanding a trade… are we all just being overly-sensitive?

It doesn’t really work like that, he has runs on the board.… Kouta is running for Lord Mayor 20 years after he last kicked a footy

Agree with Jon Ralph.

He’s been through a lot, no doubt, but it’s not our fault he asked his manager whether he could get out and people found out.

The snowball effect of this has got large on him and it’s going to be a very long wait until 2025 season begins, whichever colours he ends up in.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
