I heard this too, I didn't really think it was tongue-in-cheek though. I felt he was definitely posing the question as to whether we'd look to take him.

I might be clutching at straws here but if Koz is super close with his cousin, maybe it's been pre-planned as part of him signing on long term? We did have Roy George training with the boys last summer as well.

Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' Aug...

AFL.com.au's draft guru Cal Twomey delivers his second Phantom Form Guide ahead of the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft

Cal has updated his top 30 and some of the earlier players who I thought might drop down to the second round & be available are now being uplifted into the top 30. If the Dees trade to get into the first round, there remains good high quality youngsters. Whilst many are querying the strength of this draft pool, which I tend to agree, I see this as due to the heavily compromised nature with around 18 of the top 50 likely types being pre nominated through father son or academy.

I still think clubs can get good well prepared youngsters in the 2nd round.

Outside the CAL TWOMEY “current top 30”, some good youngsters are available although again it might involve bidding on prenominated players Outside this top 30 includes

Noah Chamberlin Tall mid/half back (*academy Sydney)

Fred Rodriguez WA midfield

Lachlan Carmichael(**acdemy Sydney) halfback/quarterback

Rory Wright. Vic. Gun midfielder👍🏻

Cody Curtin WA Key fwd/ruck

Ryder Corrigan  (**academy Giants) inside midfield

Koby Coulson (* Suns academy)👍🏻 midfielder

Harry Kyle. (*Swans academy ) qtrback/half back

Jack Dalton VIC Small midfielder

Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier SA inside mid 👍🏻

Felix Kneipp VIC small defender/mid👍🏻

Dyson Sharp to me looks the one I would take first round if we could clean, good skills and vision. Really like what Ihave seen

What's your take on Fred Rodriguez @Pennant St Dee ?

Jumped up last year, came in with a higher profile, but seems to have slid a bit as the year's gone on.

I dont want to get everyone excited but I present to you.....Latrelle Pickett, yes Kossie's cousin.

Made his SANFL debut on the weekend and kicked 4. He has also kicked 28 goals from 17 matches in the SANFL reserves and in the SANFL annual youth game (u18 v u20) he kicked 3.

Was overlooked in last years draft, and is a late bolter this year. But has to be turning heads now.

AFL Draft Power Rankings: August 2025

Rookie Me Central's latest Power Rankings instalment features a new number one, and two fresh faces among the top 30.

from my rough count, 3 of the top 5 selections for northern franchises, dean as a father-son for the baggers in 6-10 range, and a further 4 academy selections (2 northern, 1 each for baggers and peptides) in the 15-30 range

of their top 30, 8 accounted for already

Saw some of a recent Eastern under 18s games , watching young guns like Dovaston, Greeves , Xavier Taylor and Oskar Taylor. Also noted youngster Sullivan Robey. He took some nice marks as a tall forward. Good kick. Looked like a footballer.

Interesting to see Cal Twomey put him in his list on other youngsters to watch

Yesterday in the Eastern v Western game, Robey collected 40 possessions, 3 goals and 9 marks. I will definitely be looking at that game on the video once it’s on the App.

I think he’s a decent player big bodied mid strong tank and can use the ball well both feet, no real X factor but IMO will play a lot of footy at the next level. South Freo have a very strong senior side, which he hasn’t been able to break into

Paul Amy tweeted about him today as well, probably a train on or rookie option at the moment but looks to be one of those late bloomer types, what type of player is he? you say tall forward but then he's having 40?

Rory Wright another excellent game today in Dragons big win. He uses the ball with great effectiveness. Clever player. Together with Dalton and Fincher, the three classy left footers were too good for the Knights. All three will get drafted and their kicking skills will transfer into an AFL environment.

Not sure if you noticed @spirit of norm smith, and anyone else that's interested in junior footy, but the AFL app/website now has the CTL boys and girls U18s comp listed under the matches section. I noticed this when watching the VFL yesterday .

Pretty sure they live streamed the junior games on there this weekend and it appears you can watch the replays from here too. Not sure how long it's been there for but must be relatively new or perhaps just a thing they're doing for covering the CTL finals.

Edit: it even has the game stats available going all the way back to round 1.
