Any word on how Felix Kneipp played @spirit of norm smith? Liked what I saw of him last year but has been injured for most of this season and just returned to the Calder team on the weekend. Looks like he picked up 20 disposals but haven't watched the game yet myself.

@Random Task I was going to look at Stingrays v Power tonight. Lots of prospects in that game. Might try to catchup on Calder later in the week.

How did Sinnema and Prasad go?

Sinnema was good in patches. He got crunched in a tackle in the 3rd quarter and kicked a nice goal from 40m out. He’s got class with the footy which we do need (but will need a few preseasons to get AFL ready so need to be patient )

Didn’t see much of Prasad. A Quiet Game is what I would say. Applied a few good tackles but was often out positioned to win the footy.

I'd be right into this guy, 18yo and dominating the forward line at brisbane, given melky's age he could develop really nicely behind fritsch and himself for 12 months. proven vfl player who seemingly would thrive in the afl environment

@Chelly @Turner watched the Stingrays v Power. Unfortunately the ground was drier than an Indian cricket wicket It was mostly dirt with a few patches of grass. Not much protection for the youngsters getting tackled. Frankly it was a disgrace to see. 🤬

Obviously it would be great to have Willem Duursma coming to the Dees (he’s probably going to be pick 1 or 2 for the Eagles alongside Cooper Duff-Tyler.. great name!!) … if only we had an academy! 🤬

If the Dees had our “pick” at around pick 8 or 9, Stingrays star Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves ️would have been the player I’d nominate. He’s very composed and has the ability to win it and spread quickly. Lean type who runs through the lines and carries the footy. Only knock is sometimes perhaps his kicking can be loose. But hey the Dees kicking coach would fix that !

if i was the eagles i'd be nervous drafting young willem, yasmin and xavier have both had trades back to Victoria early on in their careers, theyre a tight family, whilst he may be the best on the open market they surely dont want another harley reid story arc where it is just the whole narrative for 3+ years and wouldn't it be a disaster if they both then left in '28. I think they have to consider what a trade of pick 2 for 5 and 8 or 4 and a f1 looks like

No father son or academy picks in the first round of 2026

Carlton fans gonna be mad!

Josh Lindsay - agree he is a very good user of the footy

If we somehow ended up with a top 10 pick I'd be looking at Josh Lindsay or Jacob Farrow.

What does that mean? Anyone can take your father/son with a first round pick now?

It's one of the mooted changes for the 2026 draft. Essentially, the first round will be 'open', so if a club elects to utilise their first round selection on a player, clubs will be unable to match their selection. Therefore, the first round would be open slather; however, F/S and Academy selections will be able to be matched from Round 2 onwards.

@spirit of norm smith are you familiar with Charlie Abbott (St Kevin's)? I haven't seen a lot about him, but he seems a promising selection. Ranked in the top 50 APS prospects, but doesn't seem to have much reporting outside of that. I'm also unable to determine if he's currently playing in the Coates Talent League or just in the APS.

"Charlie Abbott (St Kevin’s College)

Abbott is an imposing key forward who put together some great school footy performances this season, headlined by a five-goal haul against Carey Grammar. Not only was he a strong mark, but Abbott had a thumping set shot and could slot goals from distance as well from difficult angles."

Cal Twomey asking the question on Gettable.... "wonder if Latrelle Pickett will be at Melbourne next year?"

Probably just a tongue in cheek comment given he is Kozzies cousin though

Cooper Duff-Tytler is an enticing prospect, but sadly will be gone long before our first pick.

I'm looking forward to fans evoking the spirit of Roy Cazaly when Cooper flies for a mark and "Up the Duff!!" rings around the ground.

I heard this too, I didn't really think it was tongue-in-cheek though. I felt he was definitely posing the question as to whether we'd look to take him.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
