What does K.Brown got to do to get a game in the seniors ? So many out of form seniors players still get games, are we tanking ? or is Goody and co. bad at coaching? Lets send message to to the footy world , come to this club and expect to get shafted. More or less they will avoid us. We will lose by 53 pts against GWS. If I was Kynan I would f.ck off from this club before he goes backwards.

Kynan weighs all of 65kgs and is just on our list. He’s way too raw to be playing in a must win game against a battle hardened team like GWS. He’s a year or 2 away if he’s good enough to keep improving. Racking up tackles in a VFL slogfest is a great effort but it doesn’t make him AFL ready. The FD are doing their job.

I'm exasperated by the notion that the medical team, Gawn and the FD would knowingly put him in a position to exacerbate the injury, without weighing up the risk.

if we lose we are likely done anyway.

i expect we'll see a lot of handballs from max

incredibly accurate which suggests a) luck; b) kicking close to goal or c) kicking from the corridor

Don't know the breakdown of set shots, out-the-back, stoppage etc but they are doing something right.

They certainly are doing something right in the accuracy department but they can't rely on kicking 16.6 in each final and expect to win a flag.

They could very well continue their supreme accuracy on Saturday night but law of averages suggest it won't last much longer.

Teams are picked now so this is mainly speculation on my part.  But from memory Sestan plays a forward/midfielder role and has a lovely kick.  He seems like a great option for us in the near future!  I'd like to see him have a chance at AFL level

Just because it is his 200th is NO Guarantee of a spot and nor should it be! He would want to tear it up at Casey First. Not that thats any factor, just look at Pettys elevation on no form!

There is a little more to this argument that perhaps cannot be stated; to some extent, I'd consider it better management for a form indicator to warrant selection or alternatively, a readiness to be exposed to the big time as a direct reward of indicators achieved at Casey.

I think and hope you will find that the likes of Seston and jefo will get games if we lose against GWS and likely to miss finals. If that happens (I hope not) it will be a good opportunity to see what the youngsters have got.

Punters have backed dees into favouritism:

I'm hoping that with Max back our fwd line will be more potent and settled.

In fact it's probably the best we have had all year

I think it will go without Kozzie who with Rivers will boost our midfield.

A lot will depend on Viney and Oliver tmrw.

I think our best will show up this weekend.

( We will know in the first quarter I guess).

I really rate us this weekend. I just hope Max is Ok.

Dropping Sparrow was a big call but it was time.

Who will take his spot?

Can't help but feel Max's inclusion is well meant but foolhardy desperation.

Hope this doesn't exasperate his injury.

Go Dees ... keep well Max.

I though the injury would be pissing Max off, rather than the other way around ... :-)

According to his stats he’s played 197 games DD.

You don't gift games to mediocre players based on how many games they've played DZ.  Not at the top level.  They need to earn their call up.

This year has been a horror fest in terms of selection integrity for SG & the SC imho.

We are also picking three emergencies to travel interstate which is killing the chances of two players to show case their wares or get into some form at Casey.

We then pick two of them to play the next week based on track form alone?

While K Brown racks up 173 dream team points vs the Dolphins (pretty rare at VFL level) and can't get a gig?

As i mentioned a few months ago, Simon is allover the shop this season with selection integrity.  Plenty of good players out impacting on results too that we are well aware of which hasn't helped.  But he hasn't handled things very well at the selection table imv.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
