Who are you Joe Biden?

They they they kicked……….. one thousand goals.. no no no….. a million goals a million goals think about that pause. Or whatever it was. Like back back back when I grew up as a black kid in the neighbourhood my parents were Jewish they survived the war and they trekked Antartica and then climbed Everest. They were the first the first to do it solo.  True story. But that was back in Vietnam when…. when I was I was was a Green Beret with Delta Force and the seals the Navy Seals were there also. But but but……………….  uncle Jim on my dad’s side he he he challenged hitler to an arm wrestle and this was to decide the war true story no really it is.  Anyway put his arm up and he won the wrestle he wrestled him but that happened that happened. And then… then I got into an F22 raptor and flew it home all the way home just like that true story that was back when you could do that full stop.

Great article. Love what he says about Disco…

“Turner has nine games to his name, and he has a right leg that could fire mortar shells”

2x50m bombs with a wet ball, no disrespect to Spargs but #9 would be a fitting number in a few years.

My footy influences have always told me the best way to effect umps in a positive way,  was to be nice to them.

It is human nature to be spiteful to those that rile you up.

Give the squad a talking too. Get them to put some sugar on the responses to the umps.

Be role models for the youngsters, respect those making difficult decision.

Does the squad applaud the umps when the ground commentators introduce them to the field?

He complained about "haircut". Must be more to it than just that. The umps shouldn't have to complain about what the cheers do.

Be nice, be loud, be positive influences, not antagonistic.

Preaching to the converted, Kev. 🙂I’ve likely given the wrong impression. The outbursts from Ryan and a couple of others are the exception to the rule. In general we’re respectful to the umpires. We have to be anyways, there are microphones in the goal posts. The kids in our bay aren’t hearing anything inappropriate, maybe up the back of our bay but not in the front half.

Maybe there was more to “haircut” as you suggested, but security told Ryan that that’s what Williamson complained about.

We don’t applaud the umps when their entrance is announced. Not sure anyone does 🤷‍♀️

We sometimes engage with the goal umps (not during play) and that’s only ever friendly banter.

I am usually in the top tier of the southern stand, the applause for the umpire as they are announced has been more popular of late. It used to be an occasional  spectator along with myself.

Now, more family's are doing it. Could be about the AFL pushing the "respect".

I'd still suggest, we put our biases aside and the ego (getting supporters on a similar trajectory) and start giving love and not the popularised vinegar.

Team focused

Thanks for the reply.

PS. Keep up the good work, back from Thailand in early September.

I'd suggest taking it to extreme, and giving the umps a standing ovation as they enter. See if the cheer squad can influence them. @WalkingCivilWar

Hey how are you liking Calabria. My family come from Lamezia Terme which is near Cantanzaro. My bro and I watched them play live against Juventus last century. They're in Serie B now. Have you been to Tropea??? I passed through Cantanzaro yesterday.

Currently staying at Bovalino. Small world mate. Only heard about Tropes this morning from any Adelaide couple visiting relos. Probably Crotone tomorrow. Stinking hot here - 36. Friend me on fb so we can msg. Or check my web page under Contact.

Just a general question, we went to the Pullman bar after the game for a couple of celebratory drinks. Any other Demonlanders ever go there?  It’s a bit of an MFC stereotype bar, but quick access from the G and then just cross the road to Jolimont station when we finish, makes it our go to place after a night game win.

At least he is a windsock that can say sorry, likes a bet both ways does Kingy, but have definitely heard him say he's got it wrong more than once. All the other bubble heads are in the tape room running a powerful magnet over their prognostications.

Kingy is one of the good ones going around.

Respect to him for owning up, something you'll rarely see from other journo's or 'expert' media commentators.

Can't say I disagree with the whole "NFI" term. Again, unlike like many others going around at least he tries to back up his arguments with stats and champion data which I think provides valuable insight for fans on how teams are operating throughout the way.

He brings a lot of great content on the Monday means test with Gerard Whately on SEN, as well as on First Crack on Fox Footy.

You may think he has "NFI" but whilst it's easy to cherry pick the ones he gets wrong which I have also, he also gets them right also.

As an example, he was 100% spot on with this one which he stated back in August 2021.

That free kick to Turner when he kicked Drapers head is one of the worst calls i’ve ever seen

Does anybody have any vision of that incident?  I know that Bomber fans are ropable about it.

I initially thought that Turner stumbled over a prone Draper and made accidental contact with his head and expected an Essendon free kick, but I think Draper may have then raised his hand and grabbed Disco by the foot/ankle and was penalised for a trip.

I applaud the umps when they come out. They do an amazing job.

Thanks Ethan, difficult job, that by the end of the game, their best is to be unnoticed.

We need them and especially at the lower levels across many codes.

The dislike of umps is a disservice to everyone.

Can the Cheer squad get a giant head of the "haircut" with that title and a sign of love #22, or, is that a bit overboard and could be seen as sarcasm, cynicism and opportunistic.

Doesn't a win over the bombs make for a good week!

@WalkingCivilWar

Just had one of those great Thai massages, woo hoo. 2hrs and $15.

Draper head-butted Turner’s foot. That’s the way I saw it.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 19th February 2025

Demonlander The Analyser was the sole Trackwatcher out at Casey Fields today to bring you the following observations from this mornings preseason training session. Training  was at Casey today. It consisted of a match simulation for one half  and then a free choice activity time. Activities included kicking for goal,  aerial , contest work etc. I noticed the following players not in match simulation Jack Viney  running laps and looks fine for round one . I think Kolt looks like he’s im

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
