Not sure if this has been put up and wasn't sure where to put it so just thought I'd make a thread. This is a great little video breakdown of the last two mins Vs North, how both teams went about trying to win/save game.

Agree with all of old mates comments. However it makes me very worried at the thought of our team without max when his time comes.

OMG, it sounds as though we actually did a good last weekend.

should never have put ourselves in that position in the first place

football is a game of momentum these days, and north got all theirs going in the last quarter and, to be honest, the second quarter - they should never have let the margin balloon out as it did and could well have been in front at half time as they were as dominant in 2 and 4 as we were in 1 and 3

our defensive structure held them up in the last few minutes and petty's clunking mark after pup's big tackle was a huge part of us holding on imo

Gee, it was interesting noting

first the borderline downfield free for the bump on Petty (I wouldn't have called it, but the umpires earlier had...)

and then at the other end of that kick it is clear even in that grainy footage that Van Rooyen was bumped to ground by an opponent with no intention of entering the marking contest. I mean... am I forgetting the rules or is bumping someone to prevent them entering a marking contest when you have no intention of participating in the contest not normally a free?

Good pickup on Liam Shiels effort there, and the comment on 'not caring what the opposition is doing - rolling the dice' sums up the necessary attitude quite well.

Any chance Will Schofield can bring this stuff to special comments instead of cheerleading like he's head of the WA Football Commission? I know there's a difference between speaking off the cuff and being able to review footage first, but this is light years ahead of the dross he brings to TV games.

I’d prefer anything over BT.. he would have watch the Melbourne v North last 2 minutes and said “you really get the feeling North need to score here, otherwise it is going to be tough to come back”..

I'd prefer to hear to somebody speaking in tongues while I'm strapped to the electric chair than BT.

My dog barking at possums is like a Mozart masterpiece compared to listening to BT.

The disappointing take away from that video was that we allowed the oppositions best player on the ground to be free at stoppages with the game in the balance. Egads.

A good summary especially aimed at those who think prolific possessions are the criteria for winning e.g Shiel's running, Gawn, Movement to bottle game up. Protecting the corridor.

All things that stats analysis does not show up !!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
