sorry @WalkingCivilWar, but something that i think is worth discussing re grundy - one of the advantages of trading him for reasonably similar to what we 'paid' for him is we got all his salary off the books

where'd the circa ~700k a year go? certainly not on fullarton or billings (with the aints apaz paying a portion towards that of his high salary)

i wonder whether we're paying 'unders' this year in order to maximise our salary cap capital in future years

now, back to non-mfc - imagine how good the bloods would be if they had been able to keep dawson

*sigh* Idk. I just wanna watch other sides play and not think about the MFC while doing so, especially on a bye weekend. As for Jordan Dawson though, the Swans are doing pretty well without him, dontchya think?!

The Crows have this.

The Swans are very good but far from unbeatable

The Crows are solid and their position belies their heir quality

Parity becomes us all

can see the bloods doing what they always seem to be doing of late - give up a start in q1, grind their way into it in q2 and q3, and then run away with it in q4

seems to have been the modus operandi of late - it was ours for a while too over the 2021-23 years; you come unstuck eventually, as we know

it's a risky way to play

Izak Rankine is a ️ Interesting post-goal song of choice: Whoomp! (There It Is) 😂

Rankine can come to the Dees whenever he wants.

what about rachele?

signed a massive deal and has 'disappointed' this year according to the likes of kornes (i think he's still been pretty good)

i'm not sure he's a mid - certainly hasn't rolled thru there this much this year - but he has played in that mid / fwd combo role in the past and has some nice skills

biggest query would be pace

I’d have him too.

Crows have great smalls coming through I reckon. That’s why they want Petty. When their midfield will be elite they’ll need support behind the ball to genuinely challenge. They want Harry to be their May.

Absolute waste of a list spot.  We can ill afford to be recruiting more downhill skiers.

Disagree but fair enough. Please let me know of another experienced/ tall forward/ rucking option that might be available at a reasonable rate. At the moment we have nothing.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
