Its offical.

Umpires do not pay holding the ball, or throwing the bal.  So many ball upps as a result.

After Jesse's mark fiasco I have swithed off the game.

Unless Dees play umps/AFL Footy Ops dept. have stolen my enjoyment

Much prefer watching VFL (Casey) now D17.  The umpiring there is at least a pass mark most weeks and i don't have to put up with "enter the sandman" pre match type rubbish plus the gound MC voice blaring in my ears at every single break.

Its old school footy and just pure footy watching the boys develop and hone their skills / craft plus see how some of the seniors are doing post injury / recovery.

It's also an easy get in terms of parking and price (or no cost using the membership) as the case may be.  The food is basic but reasonably priced or you can just take your own stuff with you.

Most games are also during the day, making the standard fairly reasonable without the greasy / slippery ball stuff that you get at night time matches.  Of which we seem to play alot of!

Add to that the ever increasing cost, no cash accepted nonsense, AFL fixture / start up club bias, the constant "it's this week or that week build ups" and it all adds up to a big turn off for me now.

The AFL is sucking the life and enjoyment out of the big stage stuff now.

Riccardi a stellar game so far.

That goal in the 3rd was very special.

Something you don't see alot of from the big fellas much nowadays.

Thought it was changed tp 20 at the time of the Mac Andrew AFL fix?

Did they as change it back again after 2018 or so?

Watching Peatley tonight, really hoping we'll see Kolt get another shot at it soon.

Reckon he'll bring a similar exuberation, desperation and run to this group if he gets the chance.

Brave umpire 😅

It’s great entertainment, fans going off their chops in the stands.
Unfortunately it’s game back on.

That second quarter was great. Alas, it’s all Geelong since then. Was looking forward to seeing Scott’s sourpuss mug.

Geelong supporters are unbelievable. Deathly quiet when their players need to hear them most, only find their voices when their players least need to hear them.

How good is it having two cats supporters commentating. Please please win Giants.

The barracking for Geelong is nauseating. Not as overt as some commentators (BT) but just as unprofessional.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
