Which players are possibly open to a good offer?

More like a wish list.

Ideally Age 22-25 , high impact, experienced, returning Victorian?

Dissatisfied with current team/prospects?

Just scratching the surface though I’m sure to have included or missed something obvious.
Some high cost/value, others cheaper but may not offer much. Mainly mids and forwards. Have not included any rucks as I believe it will be difficult to attract any after last year until Max actually retires.

(grouped in clubs, possibility and by quality of the group)

Serong, Young, Brayshaw,
Butters, Drew, Bergman,
Davies-Uniake,
Holmes
Callaghan, Ash,
Taranto, Baker, Short, Ross, Graham
Dale, Richards, Smith
Sinclair, King,
Rayner,
Walsh, Curnow
Parish, Hobbs,
King, Humphrey, Ballard,

Couldn’t find too many from these teams: Coll, Haw, WC, Adl.

of those currently under contract. darcy parish would be one that i would definitely be keen to have a chat with

i can't see the peptides wanting to honour their very long deal with him given that their midfield seems to operate better without him

as such, if we can take on the wage and not give up much collateral, it would appear to be a potential win: win

We won’t be able to get anyone one that list. Collingwood, Carlton will be into them long before we are. Saints will throw ridiculous money and long term contracts. Geelong will give them lifestyle and reinvention.

We just don’t even have a training base.

Liam Reidy Fremantle

Ideally Age 22-25 TICK

High impact, experienced, TICK

Returning Victorian? TICK

Dissatisfied with current team/prospects? TICK

behind Jackson and Darcy but dominant in WAFL.

Cheap.

Started as a fwd but plays first ruck now.

Free agents I hope we look at:

Stengle, Cumming, Battle and J. Berry

Out of contract players:

Moyle, Baker, Busslinger?

Contracted players but ask the question

Humphrey, Lord, Thilthorpe (part of Petty trade?)

We are not a destination club , somehow playing on the MCG is not all that appealing. We should trade Oliver and Petty to Norf. They give us one of their mids( preferable not the Tasmanian player). Or we get their pick one. We go out and get Tilthorpe. Alternative we trade Oliver and a second rounder to Freo for Brayshaw. NOT goinh to happen , I know. What about getting rid of Goody and all the assistants . New coach picks his own assistants.

Max Knobel of Fremantle Dockers

Date of Birth: 27/06/2004 (20 years old)

Height: 206 cm (6' 9")

Position: Ruck

Taken in the 2022 draft from Gippsland Power.

Out of contract this year.

According to #foreverfreo, he’s too good for ressies footy.

Yesterday's stats:

48 hitouts
23 disposals
5 marks
2 tackles
1 goal

Any WA Dees fans know much?

Someone posted a tweet a while back from a journo suggesting we were into Ryan Angwin from GWS. Will watch him more closely now he's getting senior games but looks a tough competitor and can allegedly kick a footy. Vic boy and has had limited opportunities so far.

Melbourne misses - SEN

“The big miss, their past two years of trades,” Josh Jenkins added.

“I think they are zip from six. Brodie Grundy, Lachie Hunter, Josh Schache, Jack Billings, Tom Fullarton and Shane McAdam

“They are zip from six on the trade table in the past two years and that has got to be a big miss.

Who’s responsible for this & we have signed another ruck Campbell to his 4th club?

Jenkins. Yawn.

Any dates for Delisted Free Agency?

What time is the first pick?

I can then plan ‘5x5 on the clock’ before we get involved (maybe with a bid, then another 5 mins on the clock and so on….

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
