Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

2016 Melbourne enters the 3rd and last year under Pual Roos as Coach.

For the first time in a while Melbourne had no involvement in Free Agency.

The Trade period saw Jake Melksham arrive from Essendon for pick 25, Jeremy Howe departs to Collingwood and Jimmy Toumpas to Port Adelaide for Ben Kennedy and picks 29 and 50. Jack Fitzpatrick was traded to Hawthorn for pick 94.
In the first year of trading future picks the Dees traded picks 6 29 and 2016 first rounder for Picks 3 10 and 43 from Gold Coast in an attempt to get ahead of the bombers who had significant compensation picks.
Picks 10, 43 and 64 then went to the Giants for Thomas Bugg and Pick 7.
Melbourne had started its use of future picks to significantly improve their draft hand.

Daniel Cross retired, but stayed as an assistant coach, Viv Michie, Rohan Bail, Mark Jamar, Jordie McKenzie and Aidan Riley were all delisted.

The National draft saw Clayton Oliver (4), Sam Weideman (9), Mitch King (42) and Liam Hulett (46) added to the list.

The Rookie draft saw Josh Wagner (6) and Viv Michie (24) and Joel Smith (41) added as rookies.

Melbourne's list is starting to resemble a poker deck with four Jacks, a couple of Kings and quite possibly a couple of aces.

Clayton Oliver, Jake Melksham and Joel Smith are now added to the list of only men still standing along with, Jack, T.Mac, the skipper, Salem, Christian Petracca, Angus Brayshaw and Alex Neal-Bullen.

The season saw steady improvement with 10 wins and a rise on the ladder to 11th. Melbourne's future round trade to Gold Coast had given up pick 8 in the 2016 draft (picks 6 29 and future 8 for Picks 3 10 and 43)

Enjoy.

Hey @Six6Six, great work on the photos. Just wondering, the videos play up every now and then and will randomly stop. Anyway we can view them just as a gallery itself instead of a video slideshow?

Hi Dazzle,

Thanks for the feedback. It's probably due to the band width on the device you are viewing from. They are all produced in 4K.

There is a bit of mucking around to get them set up as stills in a slide show.

I've recreated the latest one in a lower resolution that should be suitable for viewing on a mobile device. Let me know if it makes any difference. If not, I'll see what can be done about packaging them up into a photo slideshow format.

After we won that game against Gold Coast I over-invested in a miracle run to the finals. Then after doing all the hard work, and North falling to bits in front of us we lost to a dud Carlton side with all sorts of good players missing. Classic Melbourne.

@Six6Six

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for your dedication and effort in documenting the history of the Melbourne Football Club. over the last decade.  Your work is an invaluable tool for acknowledging just how far we have come as a club.

The Melbourne Football Club has a rich and storied history, filled with triumphs, challenges, and moments that define our identity. By documenting this journey, visually,  you preserve the legacy.

It's not how I would ever dream of spending my time, so thank you for spending yours in  this way.

Thanks EO, I appreciate the sentiment. I have a lot of shots of preseason training dating back to the 2013 season, some good and some not so good. It has been an interesting experience going back and reviewing them season by season. As for the time, I recently retired, so I have plenty of spare time.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
