TMac had no runs on the board last September. He was a complete liability in both games. He couldn’t move. It was actually embarrassing to watch. Unforgivable from a Selection pov, but it was done not once but twice, whilst 2 fit blokes were not used.
will take a long time to forget last September

Take as long as you want 'SWL', personally I can't see the point.

I'm looking forward to season 2024.

I wonder what it will bring???

I honestly have no idea.

After losing 4 home finals on the Home Ground, who would know….

He may have come 2nd in the time trial, shows stamina, but stop/start burst speed, he would be one of the slowest.

Totally agree. Wizard of Koz has basically tried to say I've been wrong on this whole thread. So I'm just sticking the boots in

yeah sure he did. If so we are in trouble.

Why? Because he's good at running  at a steady pace over 2km? Still can't move sideways. Think you need to take your rose coloured glasses off and accept that Tom is in the shape of his life and giving it a last good crack.

He most likely won't make the team but it's a bloody good problem to have if he does put pressure on the selectors. Stop being so pessimistic.

My recollection is that Tom, after a good season, was given a 4 year contract and there was no pay cut, or extending the contract to help the club out.

I recall Tom getting his contract extended by a year a few years ago. I think he had three years remaining that was extended to 4 for basically the same money. Tom wanted the extra year and the club wanted the savings to help with either Petracca or Clarry's monster deal.

Just checked and he had 2 years left at end of 20 when we tried to trade him.

At end of flag year in 21, with 1 year left, presumably as a reward for a good year, he was given a 2 year extension to end of 24.

It was a straight out extension and had nothing to do with taking a cut, which presumably would have been reported if it was the case.

Anyway, hope he has a good year.

I stand corrected - my numbers were definitely out of whack. I think the belief at the time though was that it involved taking a pay cut to prolong his career but who knows:

Don't worry. Lots of Demonlanders either make it up, re write history to support dodgy claims or just assert stuff without any evidence 🤔.

It's a bloody good effort for a bloke of his size and age to be still in this sort of shape, particularly when he spent a big chunk of last season injured and not being able to train to his capasity.

That sort of professionalism, attitude and resilience is the stuff that builds culture.  Regardless of his direct impact at senior AFL level I think that guys like T Mac would have a great influence on our developing players comming through  -  pitty the media scum can't write about that.  On a related note, what does it say about the media's culture to be constantly hounding and spreading innuendo about individuals going through personal issues.

Sadly, I know firsthand how they would be feeling right now, and at the same length of gestation (20 weeks). It’s an acute sadness that never goes away. I’m also surprised he is able to attend training, because merely being able to function after only three days is a huge achievement. 😢

I am not allowed to say that I’m surprised he’s managed to get back into training after a tragedy like that?

Look it's a sensitive issue and I'm really not having a go at you but it can imply or suggest that after a tragic event people should or should not behave in a particular way.

Everyone is different & behaves in a different way after tragedy so whatever they do should not surprise anyone.

Ok. Apologies that I was surprised.
