Sounds like he injured his hand at training rather than carrying the injury from the weekend

Didn't he cop a a kick to the hand against the Doggies? Or someone this season, it's already a blur.

That’s what I thought too. I remember him shaking his hand in pain. I just couldn’t remember the incident.

Same, it's possible he has a bruise still from that game and it got knocked again at training, and they have decided to scan it just to make sure there's nothing sinister going on.

We don't all immediately have to jump to the wrong conclusion. Joel Selwood broke his hand and he missed what, a week? Let's just all CALM DOWN!

Not the same hand that Joel Selwood kicked a few years back i hope. That seems like it has never gone away.

Where would it go away to? It’s connected to his arm.

Next man in mentality, but it’s Oliver we are talking about.

Next two men in,

if he misses.

How can we stay calm, when Oliver's finger is at stake

That was Trac.

Melbourne star Clayton Oliver was sent for a scan after suffering a dislocated finger at training on Wednesday, but the Demons still expect him to face Port Adelaide on Saturday.

The Demons confirmed Oliver left Casey Fields for a scan following the incident but do not have concerns over his availability ahead of the blockbuster Adelaide Oval clash.

Well he would have to get ONE free kick in the next two weeks now.

There are some tough blokes about. I had only bruised ribs once and every time I coughed or laughed I was in agony. Could hardy to put on a shirt. Can't imagine playing a game of AFL footy.

Well they used to say to you that it will be a little tight but your safe with it being taped up. Out you go.

I defenitely saw Oliver shaking a sore hand on Saturday as well as Petracca.  It is possible what happened at training today is related.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was more vulnerable to pain in his left (?) hand after that Geelong kicking incident in 2022 (?). He ended up having off season surgery on it from memory after the initial treatment in the final rounds of the season (back in ye good ol' days where he missed his first game ever for injury after a record run of games!)

This might have occurred as a result of him pulling his finger out.

I'll show myself out.

He wasn’t anywhere near Sicily off the play, was he?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
