last monday night N.D did not say he wanted to coach melbourne next year but said he wanted to coach.

so what you might think ?

but he said about 4 or 5 times that he could not talk to any other team till june 20th .

why did he not come out and say that he wanted to be melbournes coach.

l have heard that he wants to go to essendon when sheedy leaves.

sheedy is in the last year of his contract and is going for the youth thing .

the A.F.L have said they want sheedy and they have got a few things for him.

out of the past essendon players in coaching N.D has the best record.

belive it or not

melbourne will not talk to N.D about a new contract but have said they belive we can win a flag in the next to years.

which brings me back to Mark Williams yes he is in a contract with sandy but HE CAN GET OUT OF IT !

to take over Melbourne fc if the position becomes vacant.

GOOD BYE N.D THANKS FOR THE TIMES WE HAVE HAD LETS SHAKE HANDS AND SAY GOOD BYE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

think what you want but just remember this come round 22

I have listened to the tape a few times. His tone was not that he didn't want to coach it was that he wanted to make the right decision for the club and the players at the end of the year after what i guess would be their review.

The comment re the date was raised by the panel and he just joked about it and said he might check the contract but thought it had that in it. Obviously he hadn't looked at the clause or thought about it.

I have not ever heard him say that- he wants to go to Essendon- it is only speculation from the general public and maybe media.

Anyway that interview was discussed in another thread last week and we have moved on.

The FD needs a huge review come the end of the season, and what about Bodan Babacrap, he has been useless and a big waste of money. Our players still can't run out games and so many players have lost all their strength and sacraficed it for crap.

I'm not saying anything because if history is anything to go by, this team will win 10 in a row and make the finals, only to lose in the first week. ND will then resign. So it really doesn't matter what I think.

get out while the ship is sinking neale. we need a new structure and a cleanout. we need new blood, get rid of the crap no heart money hungry players. i would rather try something new and lose than keep the old and keep losing. the afl is so crap to watch these days, as the qld people say; aerial ping pong is afl, and im starting to agree.

Let's get serious - we have to plan for 2008 NOW!

Peter Sumich should be immediately approach to coach the Demons - he's knows success and has bee around a range of coaches. He KNOWS what is required to make the top four. He wants to coach - sign him up by round 10, get the other coaches out and get planning and working on 2008.

We are too easily brushed off - we are soft and need to muscle up - we need to get a couple of players - trade the soft ones - YOU know who they are

SEN running a poll on who is going to be our coach next year!!!

ND will leave at the end of the season without any fanfare and not before, i just hope the new coach delists bizzell, holland, miller, ward, cj, brown, wheatley, fergerson, warnock, jamar.most of them should have gone at the end of last year.

Unless Freo get to him first Sumich should be the coach. Daniher must be sacked at the end of the year. West Coast are showing the competition how it's done we must poach them. Maybe then we could find some decent midfielders. Daniher must take responsibility for our lack of effort. Too choose Ferguson ahead of Holland makes no sense, Sandy had the bye the week before they had no form to pick him on, if they thought Ferguson was the man why didn't they play him against the Bulldogs. At least Holland could play on Lynch and Hansen they are big units. What does Ferguson have going for him ? and the worst decision was to play Robertson at Sandy. He's our no 2 forward and one of the few demon players that have a good record against the Eagles. I don't care if he is not fully fit a half fit Robertson would be better than playing the worst footballer in the comp in Miller. If Miller plays next week there is no way I'm going Daniher has to realise he is a lost cause.

Until today I thought ND worth another year. But now I realise we have no future with the present players. Have to have a big clean out which means no hope of finals next year either, which means no point keeping ND. It back to square one, start a new 'five year plan'. Give up on a flag for the next few years Dee's fans, but hey, whats new ?

I don't want our young players learning the game under Neale. The way we move the ball is nothing short of pathetic.

Mark Williams must come in. Does he have a clause in his contract with Sandy that says he can take the senior role if offered?

I actually think ND will resign this week. He looked like he had a tear in his eye when walking the boundary after the game.

I just don't know about swapping coaches at this stage. If we keep performing so poorly, with such poor skills, by the end of the year even the new coach would be tainted and we would be wondering if he was the right choice. However a few more performances like today and it will no longer be ND's to make

There would only be an iterim appointment.

The beauty of changing coaches is it doesn't matter if we don't win games under the new coach. As long as our style of play improves and our players continue to develop.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of Grant Thomas.

Considering the injury list he had to deal with he did very, very well to get them playing a great style of footy.

Voss as assistant coach.

Grant Thomas @ Melbourne

You have been seriously drinking, & who can blame you after today.

I like the sound of Sumich as coach & Vossy Assistant.

A couple of blokes from winning culture's.

Thanks for the memories Rev

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
