Luke Trainor is shaping up to be an out and out star KPD. Given where we are, he maybe available. Given our KPD stocks many on here may suggest we already have the May replacement, but im not convinced. 

Big decision on what we do with our 1st Pick. Do we chase another star midfielder with our 1st pick or a KPD. The midfield stocks are pretty good here so i wonder if we trade into the first round.

It would be a juicy proposition for clubs in the bottom 8 to consider swapping our F1 as this year has shown we are vulnerable. GCS have pick 8 and 10 atm. So we may look to make a deal with GCS Pick 8 by using our F1 and Pick 38 for example.

“The bottom-age ruckman has been in Haileybury College's best nearly every week. In addition to racking up the hit-outs, Ah-Mu can, and has, hit the scoreboard. Once he fills in his frame a bit more, he will be incredibly difficult to stop.”

If we're looking at mids for our first pick then Langford and Lalor would be great candidates.

Assuming Smillie, O'Sullivan, Smith, Reid and Draper are out of range.

There's a lot of quality talls in this draft as well, I wouldn't be upset if we took 4-5 picks this year.

I haven’t seen as much of the National Championships and Coates League games as I have in the past but it seems fairly clear to me that there’s one glaring difference between this year and the last.

In 2023, it was Harley Reid first and daylight next.  At the head of the following pack was Colby McKercher so North did well to snare him, although the lure of Tasmania will soon be a factor with him. 

Time will tell, but I think Jason Taylor has done well to get Caleb Windsor and Koltyn Tholstrup although I felt at the time that with our draft hand, we could have tried for one more young player from the top 40 players.

By way of contrast, 2024 is far more open and there is a plethora of opinion as to who fits into the top dozen players. There are candidates from everywhere putting their hands up so having first pick in this draft won’t be as big a deal on the face of it, as last year. 

For example, hard nosed midfielder Harvey Langford who appeals to me as the prototypical Jason Taylor selection and who shared the Larke Medal was ranked at only 17 by Davo-27 (see above). 

The Power rankings and Phantom drafts that come out in coming months are going to be interesting.

I think we’re well placed to use that 2nd rd pick & two 3rd’s to pinch a first rounder from either Carlton, Brisbane or Gold Coast who all have first rd f/s or academy players coming through.

If the top 40 is as deep as one people and posters think, it represents a good chance for us to pickup 3-4 players.

based on current points a bundle of 38. 42, 47 is equivalent of pick 14... so right on the money for baggers and the bears' likely first rounder

that depends on when the value cut-off for points is; last bit of speculation i saw was that it was expected to be end of third round, so after pick 54, so all those three picks will retain some value, if not as much as now

if we did those three picks for baggers first rounder i'd be curious to see if the recruitment dept would add it to our 11 and see if we can get higher again

it seems to have been our modus operandi since the advent of future picks

premiership talls who are 24 years old, can play either end - and even pinch hit (sort of!) in the ruck - aren't dime a dozen

He's an RFA so either this year or next, the balls in our court. 

Given Adelaide have a F/S at ~ 10-15, they don't need their Pick 5 so we could give them Petty, 38 and 42 (for points) in exchange for Pick 5. They could alternatively try to split #5 with GCS 8 and 9, and use one of those picks for Petts whilst holding onto a pick for points, but it requires more from Adelaide to make that work. 

We are winners either way i think. Either hold onto Petts, which will be better for it in 2025 with a full pre-season or we get a top 10 pick.

I would expect Hamish Davis may climb into top 50, played midfield in WAFL colts on the weekend for the first time I believe 40 possessions 18 contested.

With previous proven scoreboard impact and at 191cm, huge tank I anticipate clubs to have more interest
