Effort 9/10

Kicking 5/10

General skills 6/10

Great gutsy effort again Dee's but once again let down by poor skills. Fact is we should be 2 / 5, we should have won both the last 2 games by several goals, but let down at crucial times by poor skills and decision making. That said it is fantastic to see them having a real go, that is all you can ask of them, they just are not quite good enough to compete with the better sides, but they will win a number of games this year (will be in single figures though). There would have been no point making the finals anyway, we would have gone no-where. May as well experiment now with players and game plans and just see the year out as also-rans.

As for ND well really i think one more year wouldn't hurt.. he does bleed for the club and without all these injurys i think we could have been a top 4 club these year but oh well. i wsh them well for the rest of the year! ;)

I agree, ND deserves another year. They have not fallen away despite the bad start to the year, that is a credit to him and he does bleed for them, you only had to watch him in the coaches box to see that, plus the injuries have taken a big toll. But I don't believe we were top four material. Our backline is not nearly strong enough. There will have to be some ruthless cutting back and smart recruiting for us to be more than a top six side next year.

I have a feeling our culture is turning around.

Our culture won't even start to turn around until we stop patting the players on the back for losing, regardless of effort. We have a definite and long-planted losing culture at MFC.

Oh yes, you are totally right.....

We should all rag on them with relentless criticism and abuse until their ears bleed and their eyes roll back in their heads

Yep, that will definitely help ;) !!!

....and then we change our name to Richmond.

As previous posts - happy with the effort, absolutely gutted by the loss. BUT I can see we're not too far. As long as we keep up the pressure in games, we will come through.

The Boys put in the effort in, which counts most. Once we chalk up that first win, I think we can string together a few wins.

Hopefully it can be this week.

You cant change or turn arond anything unless you clearly understand and appreciate where you are exactly and where you have to go to change it. We have had a terrible start to the year for a number of reasons some of which are beginning to turn around postively and we need to appropriately recognise that.

I find the flogging players continually after a loss is merely self serving of the deliverer and of little use to the recipients.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
