For one I would pull May out. If he gets injured or concussed we are in big trouble. It's bloody ridiculous that we don't know what's going on this late in the year. If there wasn't a bye next week, I'd go even further and forfeit this round. The Afl should not be making up when teams play finals this late. The fixture should and must be fixed for finals next year, now. 1 Quote
McQueen 17,867 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 (edited) Gotta maintain a winner’s mindset at all times. If anyone here thinks it a plausible idea to go into this game thinking a loss will be okay as we’ve got the Pies at the G is crazy. We owe the Lions from last year and if we win today we’ll go to Gabba and take care of business. 🔴🔵💪 Edited August 27, 2023 by McQueen 9 Quote

Fromgotowoewodin 1,606 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 Hope to see some decent movement in the forward line today with Fritsch back who knows where and when to lead. Won’t be seamless straight away but I feel a lot better getting him back for a game before the finals than if he was going straight into the QF off no footy. Highly doubt there’ll be any tanking today, either by us or Port. Not sure about the reasoning behind trying to avoid a certain opponent or venue in week one. “Oh we don’t want to play at AO or the Gabba?” Guess where we’re going if we lose the QF and make it to a prelim? Best to just play a normal game today and get set for winning the next month of footy 1 Quote

We want to go into finals with another win but the swans will certainly come on hard. It's hard to have a winning mindset while resting players as well. Maybe it's just an experiment to tweak our final forward line. But I'd still love to see us beat this mob for stealing our birth in last year's Granny. Quote

Guest Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 This is where I slept last night. The bottom “bunk” is mine. I was in a six-capsule dorm on the third floor. The first and second floors are bars/nightclubs. Didn’t realise this until about 6am when my five dorm-mates came “home” to crash. Five very hip Asian raver-boys. It was like a K-pop band and I was their manager. 😂 I slept like a log in my coffin/space capsule. Got up fresh as a daisy, three coffees (despite the [censored]-iness of Sydney coffee), and one 600ml can of Monster and I’m ready to watch the mighty Dees monster the Swans (see what I did there)! …or lose to them which wouldn’t be the end of the world coz Collingwood at the ‘G = soiya later Pies! CARNA MIGHTY DEMONS!!! ❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙 Quote

deespicable me 1,586 Posted August 27, 2023 Posted August 27, 2023 I would rather we win and play whoever. I even have a preference not to play the Pies. The Pies at the G will be a formidable task and I would suspect that whomever they are playing they will get off the leash at some stage and go on a goal stomping run and with their feral fans it will be hard to overcome. Not saying it would be any less at Ports ground but really with almost every Demon supporter having the game at the G as their preference it is becoming a classical case of "Beware what you wish for." 1 Quote

And can we win it without Gawn? I know we can but it’s a risk not worth taking IMO Richmond had a whole season basically to adjust to Rance being out. Very different if he does the knee in round 23.
