I know I’m banging on but TMac is just going through the motions. Token involvement.

Tomlinson should have been playing AFL elsewhere this season

no one wanted him

he has the turning circle of chris lamb

i think he competes well on the air but he's one of those too good for vfl, not good enough for afl type

We may replace Jordon with a non-mid but if we wanted another mid (and I’m of the view our midfield depth is too thin compared to our competitors) surely Dunstan is doing everything we’ve been asking of him.

31 disposals, 7 tackles and a goal to 3QT is a fair effort, although admittedly I’m not watching and therefore have no insight into quality of his disposals or the impact they’re having.

Far less decision making and disposal howlers compared to Harmes. Stronger work in the contest, a few disposals are rushed dump kicks from contest which is the nature of his position. Is best getting hands out to a kicker in my view as he is more likely to hurt us by foot if anything.

Jefferson will be a player.

I agree.

McDonald is definitely not working like he used to back in the day. Yes injuries are a part of it but he and Harmes have gone downhill a lot because of their workrate dropping like a stone.

If Casey win this as I reckon they will Dunstan will probably get BOG on the back of his stats but Tomlinson’s possessions have been far more effective.

TMac - 9 possessions, 2 marks, no score.

Doesn’t choco have time to work with Casey players?

Last 14 Casey scores 2.12

At least tmac can still kick. Might be an issue getting it tho.

TMac! Finally a real contest for him to prove himself and he wins it comfortably (and goals!).

And at least the vfl umpires know what a trip is

What a leap from Quay. Too bad he didn't mark it. Phwoa!

Ouch.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
