Experiment OVER! Either he Rucks or BUST

Well either that or Max needs to fulfil his side of the pitch to get Grundy, that is that Max plays mostly as a forward. However both are number one rucks so I never was a fan of the move in the first place, as Max just isnโ€™t a forward.ย

Hard to get a read on performances in very ordinary conditions.

Pig been playing down back, had a few touches that quarter.

Shack played a bit of ruck that quarter.

Briefly spoke to T Mac at quarter time, said ankle feeling good and was out training this morning before the game.

I asked if heโ€™ll be back for finals and said hope so. Heโ€™s quite a big man up close.

Dogga Brown here watching his son play, had a nice tackle on the wing that quarter. Needs to put on some bulk though which is understandable.

I can't see how anyone can get a handle on Grundy's 'forward craft' or lack of it in these conditions.

No BBB after half time will ascertain if he is on the bench

Think I prefer Max as the number 1 ruckman.

The Grundy experiment just won't work. Watching him right now at Casey he looks completely lost and his leading patterns is non existent.

Feel for the guy because we all wanted it to work but no doubt he'll be at a new club next year as the number 1 ruckman.

Itโ€™s pretty easy to gauge, donโ€™t just look at stats, look at positioning, leading patterns etc. not rocket science to work out. He looks completely lost even from a non statistical point of view.ย

Definitely looks lost. I actually feel a bit sorry for him, this wasnโ€™t the pitch that was spun to him.ย

We are managing playing against the wind, much better this quarter.ย

The problem for me is Grundys marking or more specifically his lack of. He's simply just not a very good marker. His tap work is good and hes good at ground level but he won't be a good fwd with his hands. Max is a great mark and we need his marking around the ground.

Jefferson with eyes on the footy and clean one grab mark. Impressive in the conditions.

Converts the goal 15metres out from in front.

Oh My God Wow GIF

Yeah I'm sorry but as much as I do think Grundy will feature at some point this is no longer nothing and the longer it goes on the more speculation there will be. The guy is not a forward and judging from this it would be quite some time before he is.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
