And channel 7 ( from Sydney TV this morning) claimed in the narrative that Brisbane should have been paid the mark and win the game. Wouldn't know the rules/interpretations not being a mark and/or around the neck. Nuff Nuff

They are probably the same ones that think cheating Joe copped a push in the back.

They just make stuff up. I was at the game and May gave Melky a big hug at the end of the game.

And they sang the song next to each other in a big hug!

Based on last nights output it appears Max is a much better player getting continuity as the main ruck. I listened to the post match commentary and was a bit surprised that Matthew Richardson and then separately Adam Cooney (peanut if you ask me) thought that it would be impossible for Grundy to be an effective forward. I'm not sure I agree with that. Grundy is a smart guy and has plenty of football IQ so with some good coaching I believe he can evolve into a capable forward.

Cooney was actually suggesting we trade Grundy at seasons end - to me that would be dumb because atm we have nobody ready to take the ruck role on if Max were to get injured. I'd love to see Brodie become a serious threat in the F50 by the seasons end - over to our coaches to make it happen.

It makes sense that Max played better. Just like when Kozzie is struggling they give him a run in the middle.

Max played better because he was involved in the game on a full-time basis. You constantly get the feel of the game , the ball in your hands and have much more confidence. Particularly Max, who has always been an endurance player. Warming the bench or parking in the fwd line also gives one time to dwell on any mistakes or low form.

Have we beaten anyone in the 8 yet?

Is Kossie out of his form slump?

Is Melksham done and dusted?

Should ANB be getting a game?

Is Jordan just a VFL player?

Does Hunter turn it over too much?

Is Viney still getting a game because of his name?

Is Max gone?

Is Goodwin the right guy?

There was a handball Tracc did, maybe in the 3rd, that if Nick Daicos did it the commentary box window would still be covered in ectoplasm. Barely rated a mention.

Tracc was enormous with his will to release the ball to a Melb player in the last.

Memo to Simon Goodwin

Restrict. Lachie Neale

Play through the corridor when we can

hypnotize Kozzzy to remember the player he was in round 1

let Gawn have 65% of ruck time

my memo got read 🤣🤣🤣 definitely wanted Gawn as #1 ruck though the Gawn to 90% ruck was unforeseen

It’s not unforeseen. It’s why they wanted to get him help - he is 31 and if he has to do that consistently he will be out of the game in 2 years max.

Remains to be seen how we go forward with this.

Why don’t these 4 brain dead clowns mention that Hipwood that giant lizard had Lever in a headlock? Is that not a clear free for over the shoulder high anyway? 🙄

Everyone is IGNORING the FACT that Hipwood has his arm around Lever's neck!!

It was a free kick every day of the week. And yes it was a mark to Lever in any case

Lever had a stinker? Very few intercepts, turned around multiple times, no attacking drive. Luckily he did just enough to not get beaten on the siren

Lever was solid. Watch the replay. Bad, bad call.

Yes but he can't do it for 25 games a year now.

Yea that's a genuine issue. Probably not, but it was great to see vintage Max.

In that last quarter the whole Team willed that win over the line, a real team effort.

How good is jarred rivers

I see what you did there.

'Jarred' was outstanding in the final quarter and his bullocking drive off half-back was inspirational

As was Viney's goal from the stoppage. Woey's first goal, there were a hundred highlights...

Super impressed with Melksham and Sparrow backing up last night with a visit to my son's Auskick this morning. Kudos to both and the MFC. ❤️

There has been a narrative spouted recently in the media that the fight in Entrecôte was the reason our form turned last year and explains our drop this season as well. That our culture had been irrevocably damaged somehow. It's a load of tosh.

I have a lot of time for Caroline Wilson. She is a proper journalist.

She had a niche - the politics of football, and is still the best at reporting on the back room stuff.

Unfortunately her niche has become the template and has metastasised into the gutter gossip peanuts like to Tom Morris trade in.

Exactly, which is why we have to find a way to fit in a second ruck. So he can keep Gawn fresh for when the season really requires him to play 80% time in the ruck.

Asking for a friend, did anyone on here leave the ground early or notice anyone pull up stumps at the 22 minute mark of the last quarter. I noticed at the Kings birthday game a lot of Pie fans walking out with a few minutes to play and they almost pinched it.

Anybody still around that remembers a bloke called Tassie Johnson.

Well he was there for a few minutes in spirit in that last Qtr.

Something nice to read on a lazy Saturday morning.

My fav bit is this.

However, Melbourne refused to give in, and when Jack Viney ripped the ball from Oscar McInerney’s grasp at the stoppage and booted it home from 20m out, he got the Demons back within five points with 2:12 to go.

    TRAINING: Monday 20th January 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
