Next time we play Port, if we do, I hope Harmes sits on Butters.

our selections against certain teams this year has been somewhat mystifying This was one of them

Harmes hasn't properly tagged since 2019. It also correlates why Harmes hasn't been the same player since 2018 when he became one of the top taggers in the game. His form has since been on a slow decline.

Not sure why some think that this will all of a sudden change..

Goodwin has been on record saying that he prefers to back our system and method in the midfield so that we're not solely not focused on one particular player, but more so on a collective group of midfielders.

The look on Brad Scotts face at the presser is priceless.

Glad Port won just to see that.

Houston lucky the umpire didnt give him the hurry along. There was still time for either side.

It pains me to say it and plenty will hate hearing it but i think the guy needs a fresh start elsewhere.

Unless something changes dramatically I don't see him part of Goody's plans unless there is injury.

Side note; are we the goodies?

Weidemann was a source of a lot of contention, frustration and the occasional burst of open anger on here, but it was mostly directed at each other on the forum - generally there was a consensus that he was a good human being with limitations as a top-level Australian footballer.

But.. Essendon fans... so much bile directed at their own player. It's a little bit horrific.

And this isn't the only comparison - back in the day I had Essendon supporting friends when Melksham was with them and both they are some of their friends were absolutely unhinged about him - every clanger was aprompt for open "[censored] you, Melksham, you [censored]". It's not as if he suddenly stopped being a sometimes frustrating player when he moved to us, but we at least have some restraint.

I mean, the abuse aimed at Weidemann in the last 24hrs makes Picket Fence v Cale Morton look mild mannered!

CW have changed the game

No longer a full on contested game style  which is our Schtik so 2021! The Dees are now poorly equipped to take these teams on

Pretty bold thing to say given we just beat Collingwood.

Disappointing that WCE couldn't hang on against the Saints but hopefully this is the start of some competitive performances from them. Melbourne can't rely on other results to get a decent ladder position but we don't need WCE gifting percentage to our opponents either.

Um what's happening over in Perth? Who is this West coast team?

Saints still found a way to win. If only we could say the same.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

A couple of intrepid Demonland Trackwatchers headed down to Gosch's Paddock for the midweek Preseason Training Session to bring you the following observations. Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
