6.10.46 to 9.3.57 at 3/4 time

we don't have any winners in the midfield other than munro and after quarter time nifty has blanketed milkshake

some of the free kicks the filth have gotten have been VERY soft

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

schache doesn't compete physically  contested marking situations whatsoever

I feel like his lack of strength and competitive nature is being highly exploited today.

well, they don't come gift-wrapped!

but jefferson having 3 goals from our 6 in total tells that as a lie, presuming you mean 'presence'

predicted text does that to you.

That third quarter we were struggling to take a contested mark forward of Center.

Lets see if they can put in a better effort in the last stanza.

TBH I'm not too upset that Casey is being challenged. The inclusion of older AFL listed players and a strong Casey core has not really developed many younger players over the last ten years.

Perhaps we are seeing a changing of the guard. VFL is not just about winning

that's cos we weren't really getting the ball forward of centre...

Howes with a fair bit of the ball again - how is the playing?

no real effect on play despite getting a fair bit of it

Hence why Schache isn’t getting a game in the seniors, what have we gained letting Weids go?

Yep umpires warming up for tomorrow, 19-6 frees Pies way. We had 2 in the first half.

Jefferson has a long long long way to go

hang on a minute, he’s just marked and missed

was a good mark too

that's three posters for us now i think

Jed must be struggling without Tomlinson and Turner holding down key back roles, certainly puts the pressure on Addams and Jefferson with Brown and TMac both out yet had we kicked straight we could have been right in this. Comeon Casey.!!!

1-9 to 10-1 from quarter time.

Disposal garbage running riot through the whole club.

very ordinary football from casey currently - they're chaining it out from d50 relatively okay til they get to the wing and then someone blazes away to a contest just inside our 50, so that the filth can clear is relatively easily; usually from a free kick

wtf is sestan doing - went to take a sideshow bald run-up at goal from a kick i50 and then basically kicked it back to the spot where he marked it in the first place

mitch white earns a free - a miracle! - and goals

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
