Far far too good for VFL but not quite constant enough for AFL. But when Melksham is on he is on.

McDonald has got better as the game has gone on as well.

Melksham doesn’t impact enough at AFL. He’s a good sub but he isn’t a 4 quarter player.

Could have fooled Carlton last year.

Melksham 5 sausage rolls has been superb.

Geez for all the bagging of TMac ive see nhim take about 5 marks second half, kick a 2nd goal and helped set up others. Some here just love to bag our own.

Turner has been excellent down back.

Brown looks proppy and not quite right to me.

as the sub he replaces Harmes

If Petty doesn't return he takes Schache's spot in the 22

We’d be far too short if we replace Schache with Melksham. Leaves JVR as our only tall forward.

Melksham’s VFL form is good but his recent AFL form has been poor. Sub only IMO.

I agree. He was crucial in the last 2 minutes of that game. The problem is he's not consistent and does not exhibit the selflessness we're trying to communicate to the rest of the team.

I'm not bagging him in general. He's a strong mark, presents well and works hard up the ground. But he's slow, tries to unsuccessfully break tackles all the time, and makes skill errors that an AFL player shouldn't make. He should look at a player like Mitch White who is very limited but only tries to do what he's capable of.

I agree with you about Turner. He to me was the obvious standout from an AFL perspective. Despite very poor Casey midfield pressure on Box Hill's running players he stood up superbly.

Melksham main issue is that he doesn't apply enough pressure to disrupt opposition transition out of our FWD 50

Yep - I remember a game vs Richmond back in 2019 (ugggh) where they beat us comfortably, but Melky kicked 4 - brought the Harlem Globetrotters that day - very strong. Wish he could be more consistent - from game to game, and within games. Let’s be honest, he’s got game!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
