I would be interested to hear the feedback he got from the club at the end of last season, and how/what steps he took that delivered him a senior debut this year.

Also, what does he focus on in preparation for each game?

Is he a stress merchant, a relaxed prepper or something else as he preps for games?

Which backline player has taught him the most?

Where does he think he will end up playing long term? Backline or somewhere else?

Ask him who’s more intimidating- May or Lever?

How has their influence and direction helped him on-field?

Ed: as I believe Salem has been his mentor preseason.

Any information about being drafted would be interesting.

Did any other clubs show interest?

What happened in his draft year to see him slip down to the rookie draft (he was highly touted the year before from memory)?

Podcast tip. Be nice if it was a conversation rather than just a Q&A (set of questions he nervously answers!)

Looking forward to your podcast

Kind of related, how much input does a player just starting out like McVee have in what position he plays and how he is developed?

Are players asked where they would like to play as an input to the decisions, or does the club say “You will be playing this role” and the player’s preferences aren’t taken into consideration?

I appreciate that for a young player like McVee the answer to this question may be different to an established star player negotiating a contract extension.

Love to hear what it has been like each step of the way moving over here. How hard was the move and the adjustment. Was it a hard decision to extend. And does he understand players deciding to fo home. Is there a special bond within the club between the WA boys or does coming from Geraldton make that irrelevant

How did his path up to, and through, the National Draft play out? I have heard he was touted as a very high pick coming up to his draft year, but didn't grow as expected, and so fell down the order - it there any truth in that?

What are him and JVR’s favourite surf spots in Victoria?

Great question. If he is a surfer, he will be keen to talk about surfing. Which might help him relax if he is nervous (which is likley given his age)

Another q might be who is the best surfer at the club

I'd be keen to get his take on who of the young boys at Casey is most likely to take the next big step (as he has now) to AFL football

Noting Judd's particular style and movent playing with confidence and some flair when he gets on the move with the ball.

Is there a player he looked to base his game on? Someone that influenced him in the way they played?

I believe Gus Dad gave it to him after he remined him of someone who he played with at North that they called knuckles???

Or would he prefer the judster?

Or perhaps Justice (as in MCV - Magistrates Court of Victoria)?

Are you sure you no longer want to call him McVeigh?

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
