Good luck to Corey Wagner - first game with Freo

Just turned this on. Where did all the Gold Coast fans come from? Sounds like they have a lot of fans there.

Fremantle's guernsey is putrid.

Witts out again?

Massive loss. Freo should win this. Darcy and LJ should dominate

So am I right to believe that the gather round is not going to move state to state but go the the highest bidder each year. Word is Adelaide is in the box seat to get it again next year.

looks like a soccer ground !

Looks to be the same 'hot dog' shape as the Western Oval in Footscray. Completely straight wings.

There's a few for sure to watch this clash of titans.

Umpires in love with Walters. Paid a mark he dropped for their 2nd and he clearly took the ball out then, but play on!

Swan’s defence has been decimated. do they even have one tall back?

luckily Tigers have no good tall fwds!

no idea who’ll win this one

I hope this isn't true. I 100% believe it should be held in Tassie maybe the year before they come into the competition.

Games in Hobart, Launceston, Devonport and maybe somewhere like Glenorchy or Burnie?

Franklin out so good chance the Swans will win.

Lukosius is almost the best kick in the league. maybe after Dawson. beautiful to watch

That’s better Suns, converting goals they’re supposed to.

28-18 GC

Longmuir wouldn’t be ecstatic that his 32 year old veteran is responsible for all of his 3 goals.

Ainsworth is a very good footballer

If what Gillon McLachlan has stated today to true then 16 other AFL clubs should just tell him to leave now. Tassie would be a great idea but if you can not move it State to State just knock it on the head now.

They should have 2 more goals

That would be akin to the SA government buying their two AFL clubs an extra home game each year.

Interesting to see what the other 16 clubs have to say about it.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
