To cry or Not to cry?

My viewing companion for the game did cry. I just sat in stunned disbelief.

I'm going to risk tha warth of this board and say that the umpires didnt cost us the game. We only have ourselves to blame.

But we were dumb espcially in that last 10 minutes. Warnock's turnover, Bruce going three on one to Davey. We didn't kick the goals that needed to be kicked and we had a multitude of opportunities. Port had a much better structure, but most of the guys tried there guts out.

Sad but true. Bruce running ito a clear goal last 1/4 also, (on an angle) never looked like it.

Bad Umpires ,in this case positioning, only becomes apparent in a tight game.

We dominated for much of the game, had plenty of shots from around 50m that didnt goal, and could have won by 2-3 goals.

Nevertheless, to watch the games of TJ, Jones, McDonald, Pettard, Dunn's second half and the mighty Rivers ( BOG for mine) was great cause for optimism.

if you ask me, i think we were really suprised in ourselves to be in the game. we arent very confident in ourselves when we have the footy, we have poor kicking and we let ourselves down by our inability to have someone stand up and deliver. this is because we have lost key players, we arent match fit, we have a constantly changing team, we cant get a good team balance and this creates inaccurate decisions and costly turnovers. credit to really stick it to port, who obviously thought they would be in for an easy game. i think aaron davey is really in a form slump at the moment and needs maybe to go back to get some confidence. i was impressed with the young guys especially, really trying hard,but its clear we are in an unfortunate position and we must keep fighting it out, who knows, we might surprise someone this season coz in my opinion september is a pipedream for us now.
