Seeing the tactical and personnel changes the coaches made before and during the game, do you think we will see this tactical flexibility continue throughout the season? Or will we revert to being predictable when Max returns from injury?

I imagine the coaches will see what and who works during the first half of the year, and then rotate through those options depending on the opponent and in-game situations later in the season.

With West Coast licking their wounds after an injury riddled derby, is it too early to look at resting players for the big trip over West, like Brown & Viney, who we know have recurring injuries. Getting runs on the board early is important but last year showed that list management needs to be a priority or we won’t even be there on the final day of the Test.

Given the West Coast have been smashed by injuries, would the panel make any specific changes to play on this, or take best available rewarding performance?

i think it is a question of philosophy, are we looking at the bigger picture and rotating players, or looking for a win week by week?  Goodys language on this is not clear….

At the start of season 2023, the AFL had the Dees with the 7th oldest list in the competition.

Against the Swans our under 24 brigade stepped up emphatically and impacted the game in our favour.

Petty, Pickett, Spargo, Rivers, van Rooyen, Chandler, McVee, Jordon, Sparrow and Bowey just to name a few are all under the age of 24.

Does the panel think that our list has the capacity to emulate the Cats and maintain a sustained period of success?

It was Lever that had the biggest go at  Gus pointing his finger in his face.

Watching at home, the TV replay showed Gus doing a lot of finger pointing trying to offload Buddy and not a lot of action to stop him. The bake was warranted.

I’m interested in where we think Viney is at? He’s limited in where he can play and it seems like we’ve adjusted to a more dynamic approach to our side. I fully acknowledge he is built for finals and he’d be in the first couple selected if/when it comes, just interested in how everyone thinks he should be used to get him ripe for finals.

Just finished listening to the Podcast. Excellent discussion. Glad you mentioned Petty in the Fwd Line. Some on here are calling for him to be dropped.
Laughable

His Stats weren’t huge but he allowed Van Rooyen space to weave his magic, and was also important once Benny went off with his bad back.
Not everyone has to Blitz the stat sheet

We kicked 21 goals as a functional Fwd line with 12 Goalkickers

Petty did his bit, as did others
