VFL: 2023 Fixture

Thank you for that. Why is it that the  AFL/VFL persist with this one round at a time release? I know it is to keep us all paying attention but I find it extremely frustrating. Publish the lot please!

4 f’ing byes!!!!

Yep, beggars belief and in another example of how competent (not) the people are running the show, apparently we play W'bee on Sat 27 March. Any sort of cursory check would reveal it's meant to be May. Anyone can make a mistake and they both start with "M" so I wasn't going to be critical. However we're listed to play Collingwood on Sat. 11 June, problem is 11 June is a Sunday. Doesn't anyone at AFL house know how to read a calender!

The May one could easily be a typo snd it's well known we play aPies on the Sunday at Casey  as in the last few years.
Also it's prob not the AFL getting out this draw but the VFL and Smithy's  fault.

they started the season early because of only one practice match thus another bye at VFL level

It's a mickey mouse comp unfortunately

Mickey Mouse  enough for our Casey Dees ( About 14/15 Dees players involved ) to be PREMIERS.
Do you really know how hard it is to Run a competition over 3 states  with 21 Teams?
Served us well last year as a training ground and will give us our next Full forward for the next 10 years. Provides football for all our players as well.

The point I was making is that it's not a competition league.

It's a training device.... don't confuse that with a genuine competition

The inclusion of the interstate teams was to aid their training but by doing so it marked the end of what was a flawed but reasonable competition

It might be called VFL but it's run by the AFL. Do you really think the Major sponsor of the comp actually does the fixture? If it's well known we play the Pies on the Sunday then why the mistake? My original comment is not about the person that made the mistakes. It's about the incompetence of management that doesn't have processes in place to check things. I guess a lot of people don't proof read these days do they?

Ask our Premiership VFL players if they don't floor you before they answer you!

Yes WAFL and SANFL May be better organised but VFL would still rate above those comps, even with the byes.

You may not realise that AFL have 2 byes per team and very little criticism there.

BTW Have you seen any matches recently ?
Last years VFL Dees Finals ?

No I am guilty of not proofing my posts regularly but the KB weekend match is well known and always on TV!

The other is easily identified and only ONE letter a R for aY.

I have never met a group of fusspots as the D/L core of VFL trajics and critics.

Items such as fixtures, byes, eligibility, times of day and prob the most important alignment with the corresponding AFL match that weekend.

It also appears you only read half a post before launching into defence mode. I don't think I'm a fusspot, holier than thou, pedantic and a believer in paying attention to detail, yes. I tend not to suffer fools gladly either. What can I say, I'm a flawed human being.

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
