Ramifications of Goodwin not playing players, that IMO deserved a better go. Disappointed to see him go, Goody can’t keep playing favourites

Well he is apparently giving an extra year to two favourites.

A bit of a positive conspiracy theory...

- Toby lives with Kozzy
- Toby has requested a trade

🤔

I thought Kozzie lived with Rivers and Jacko.

Yeah more of a comment in jest as they are some what of a like for like

I like Chandler but I’d like to get Henry from Freo if there’s any possibility to be included in the Jackson trade

Seeing ANB come 8th in the B&F this year, would be enough to make anyone competing for his position want to depart.

Yep

Staggering we even offered him a 3 year deal when you consider someone like ANB is highly rated by Goody??? Whose spot do they project Bedford to even take!

I thought it was Koz, Toby and Dogga in a house together?

Just remembered reading that it might actually be Trac, Toby and Kozzy as of last year?

id much prefer Henry,  i just think Hill looks lazy and not up to the level.  and who knows that could be because he hasnt been happy in syd.

Henry hasn't made the level yet either but is that year younger.   But was a pick 9 and a WA boy, can't see them letting him go

Trac has his own place,  Defs Koz, Toby and Dogga. thought rivers might be there too but maybe not

No idea, but found this from late last year:

"Pickett lives in a Melbourne house with Petracca, Toby Bedford and Charlie Spargo."

Grand Final 2021: Melbourne’s indigenous star Kysaiah ‘Kozzy’ Pickett has overcome many obstacles to play AFL

Tbh I haven’t seen a lot of Hill but who knows what could happen with a change of scenery, chances are he goes to Collingwood and dominates similarly to Stengle (albeit very different situations)

Same with Henry, hasn’t shown a massive amount at Freo but if he’s exploring his options I think we’d be silly not to at least put the feelers out

But an absolute waste from an MFC perspective. Develop him up for a few years, to then not give him a decent opportunity when he is ready for AFL is a real head scratcher for me.

Totally agree, but think of the upside we gained.    :-  ANB was able to rack up more of those all important and valuable ‘Pressure Act’ ranking points.

Christian-Petracca-and-Alex-Neal-Bullen-

If I had to pick one of Bedford and Chandler to keep, I'd be keeping Bedford.

However, I don't think either of them have been that good so far. I don't think we under-played him, as I don't think his form ever really warranted more games. So if GWS have convinced him he's going to get more games up there, so be it. All the best to him.

Based on the VFL grand final, Chandler has the desire and consistency to make it at AFL level. Better all round player, whereas Bedford had moments of brilliance. We have that in Kozzy, so it makes sense to go with Chandler. If Kozzy leaves, that’s a disaster

I liked Bedford, he should do well at GWS and hope he nails this opportunity,

It’s a disappointing result for mine, but one I completely understand. You can’t continue to not reward players. He’s certainly good enough to play senior footy and yet we gave him a 7 week run as a sub with 10 active minutes on the field.
Deserves better.

I would rather keep him than Melksham for another year, but I understand these aren’t really the choices we make.

Give me Trac, Oliver and Gawn and I'd give the top 4 a fair shake as coach

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
