is that so? all the talk is that he's definitely out the door, which seems unfathomable to me after the sort of season he's been having

He still could be.  Maybe freo can't get the deal done and he is going to WCE.

ala Cerra to the dees last year but the shoe is on the other foot!

Lucy, we are getting confused here about Lobb and Jacko.

My original post was about Freo wanting Lobb to stay, who is contracted btw for next year, in connection to not getting Jacko.

Whatwhatsaywhat was commenting on Lobb's good year this year and that the word is he's gone, even though he is contracted.

BTW have a look at the last posts on the Jacko thread.

Saw it.

Howes' cryptic 'Thursday vibes' and the victory emoji says Jackson is staying!!??

+

Jackson's beaming smile (when everyone else is focusing on the next ball up) and his two outstretched fingers.

=

A two year contract coming up!!??

I'm choosing to believe it's true but just for today. A person can dream!

The fact that Freo are now wanting Lobb to stay, might be due to someone not coming to them.

pretty sure freo have never not wanted lobb to stay regardless of any other options they've been looking at

If they got the bloke they wanted, his salary would cause them to let go of players and Lobb has stated his partner wants to get back to the East Coast. Freo might not want Lobb to go, but if they get their man and hopefully not, they will need to make cap space.

Im not saying trade, as per the second line in my statement "could look elsewhere"

purely if he asked for a trade.

He has played about 4 games and shows a lot of promise.
Why would he ask for a trade?

Not at all. You have to earn your spot in a  good side. The Club need Bedford going forward. Osker Baker will need to look elsewhere

Yes you did.

If he shows promise and is not getting a game, why wouldn't he look around?

It's not just clubs that let players go, players also leave because they want better opportunities.

But he is getting games in a side that has September intensions. That is not to say he still needs improvement in his game

That's the whole point, he is not getting regular games and that is why he may decide to move on.

Still a big chance to play in this years finals. Would be a foolish thing to do. He will be a regular in ‘23

Whose place will he take in 23 to be a regular?

That is entirely up to Toby. He kicks excellent goals and has serious pace. He just needs a bigger tank.

I disagree - he has excellent pace and a big tank. You'll see him in the top 5 or so endurance runners at the club, as well as the fastest top 5. His big let down is his kicking, in spite of him kicking a few ripping goals.

Always about Bedford. He has raw talent that needs to be trained, would be very disappointed if he didn’t become a serious MFC Player in future.

Agree.

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres

Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final.
