Ryder and Hill are the new story now yeah?

Why?

Why?

'Apparently' got into a bit of a minor scuffle at a bar during the bye.

Neither played in the next game, Ryder was 'managed' and Hill had 'personal reasons', which could be totally legit but journos obviously get suss on that kind of thing once the other info comes to light.

And Thomas says the Saints should add de Goey to the mix.   I suppose he would fit in the club culture.

The Coll President doesn't get it either.

An article about a De Goey 'joke':   jeff-browne-joke-about-jordan-de-goey-at-collingwood-aflw-awards-

A Coll sponsor reaction:

  • “I couldn’t believe what I was hearing at first.
  • “I turned to the person next to me and said: ‘Did he really just make a Jordan De Goey joke?’
  • “And they just shook their heads in disbelief.
  • “It was so disrespectful. It would always be inappropriate, but on a night to celebrate the women’s team, it was just appalling.
  • “I can’t imagine how the players felt having their season and achievements reduced to a joke.”
  • Another said: “I can’t believe he would be stupid enough to say that.’’

Is it any wonder De Goey didn't learn from NY.

And no wonder a sponsor, Emirates asked for a 'please explain' of the club re their reaction to the Bali trip.

Apparently De Goey is sulking and peeved off with how Coll treated him over the Bali trip.  Presumably  peeved about his lucrative contract taken off the table and/or getting him to make apologetic statements.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
