Oliver - everything seemed rushed

Petracca - better second half

Brayshaw - some important intercepts

Viney - strong first half

Jordon - not his best

Brown - always a presence 

Bowey - cool under pressure 

Harmes - tough but flawed

May - was surprisingly fumbly

McDonald - did just enough 

Rivers - rarely imbued confidence 

Melksham - didn’t justify selection 

Dunstan - experience paid dividends 

Lever - seemingly under duress

Bedford - some exciting involvement 

Weideman - played role adequately 

Spargo - rarely showed out

Fritsch - another nothing game

Langdon - hopefully not infected

Hunt - excellent first quarter 

Smith - had limited impact 

Chandler - some late touches

Agree with most of that. Gee did Lever actually have a clean possession all day? Tracc and some others need to go back to Chocco’s goal kicking school.

Comments from a recent covid sufferer. - Spaced out was my key sympton.  And ran out of puff easily (Lever and Viney's issues also,  but given that I thought Viney's game was unbelievable the way he stuck at it given the circumstances).

So just to be clear, your summation of those players' games would be to highlight singular mistakes each one made?

Yeah, he cracked in like always. But he kicked 2 on the full using his left. Turnovers like that are so costly. So I'd prefer him to respect the ball and possession more.

Yeah, I value moments in a game. Many of their mistakes were crucial and game defining. If Fritsch hadn't have turned it over so poorly we probably win by 40. but instead they go up the other end score a goal, sniff a chance to steal the game and momentum changes. Footy is like a game of tennis to me, whoever makes the least mistakes wins.  

If we look at Trent Rivers giving that dumb free away to Mitchell. If he doesn't give that away, Hawks don't get within 10 either. The NBA understand momentum better than our code does and the brain fades and poor execution kept the hawks in the game when it mattered. It's a fine line between 10 and 50 points and sometimes it's just a kick here or there.  Not to mention the misses from Oliver, Melksham, Mcdonald and Petracca. The 2021 Grand final is testament to that. The last 3 goals of the 3rd qtr broke the dogs. If we miss those 3 shots, the 4th quarter doesn't pan out the way it did. (Although I still think we would've won). 

And like tennis, it doesn't matter how many deep heavy forehands you hit, if you come to the net and volley it into the net the shots beforehand mean nothing.  

But yeah, I've been extremely critical of our efficiency going forward recently but I know the coaches are working on it.  I mean like come on, you gotta hit these sort of inside 50's.
