Hi Everyone, after watching us unfurl our beautiful flag Wednesday night, I am heading up to the Coast the following week to watch us play the Suns. Is there any reason why I should pay for a premium ticket rather than just general admission? Should I drive to the ground? Any other hints about visiting Metricon would be much appreciated. Cheers

Enjoy Wednesday night BD….wish I could be there too!

there’s usually no problems parking at Metricon if you want to drive - the car park is across the road from the stadium and you can usually buy a car park pass prior to the match. display it on your dash as you approach the car park. There’s normally pretty good signage for the car park.

not sure about premium v general admin but if you’re not under cover make sure to take sunscreen and a hat if you’re planning on getting there early before the sun goes down! ☀️

I'm heading up to the Suns game as well. Where do the Dees supporters hang out pre and post game

There's usually a pre-match function. I've attended functions at Royal Pines Resort and Emerald Lakes GC. Both within walking distance to the ground.  I think the latter is more likely to be the venue if there is a function. I've tried phoning the club but have not got through.

Close to a dozen of us travelling up from the Surfcoast.

I'm also heading up for this game, taking the family up for the weekend  but attending the game on my own.  I'm happy to hear any advice RE parking, ticketing etc...

My primary school aged son and I did this trip back in 2016? when we kicked 16 goals in the second half. Metricon is a fair way out of the Gold Coast. Back then (probably still the same), your ticket allowed for public transport to/from the ground. Given we left it a bit late, we caught a taxi out to the ground to watch the game. Great ground, it feels a lot fuller than crowd numbers suggested. We got tickets through the club (upper level, great view and friendly neighbours). My boy and I had a kick on the ground after the game for what seemed like ages to let the queue for the buses die down a bit (and it was fun!) and then caught a bus/tram back to the hotel . Great atmosphere on the public transport with multiple renditions of the song. My boy loved the weekend and I'm sure is keen to go back

I'll be coming down from Brisbane for the game and get a free ticket with my Interstate Membership. If staying on Gold Coast I would get a bus from Broadbeach on the Gold Coast Highway outside the Pacific Fair shopping centre. You can get a tram there if you are staying a fair way from Broadbeach. In my experience at Metricom GA tickets are normally good as in most cases not big crowds go to Sun's games.

Been there a couple of times.

Best to catch the bus from Pacific Fair with plenty of parking.  There is none at the ground and what is available down the road is limited.

The bus ride is an entertaining ride through the cow paddocks to the ground, and full of singing Demons fans afterward ( since there are no local SUNS fans)

I'm staying at Royal Pines because I like the short walk around to the ground and back. Will be having some drinks at the Tees clubhouse before heading around. The Kebabs at Metricon are a pretty good dinner!!

Couldn't spell royal

Taking the bride down to see this game.

First time to see the Dees live since the ANZAC eve game where Jesse Hogan tore the Tigers a new one all those years back.

Excited......

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
