Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

3 or 4 times he took a mark handballed to a player running by and then took out the chasing player or atleast made them change direction

how many shepards did we apply this game?

how many times did we get run down or tackled with a player standing a few meters away unwilling to take 3 steps and a hit for their team mate?

how many tackles did we break?

how many did we miss?

why have we slimmed down when we still cant match a pretty slow outfit in geelong?

why is there no hurt in the players faces when they walk off?

That last question I can't answer......

But my dad noticed the total lack of sheparding in last weeks debacle.

There seems to be a distinct lack of "teamwork".

To be honest I thought PJ played well on him in the second half and if he continues that form he will easily replace Holland, who IMO is woeful

Yes, Yes, Yes, exactly 'condemned 84' & that somes up pretty much the whole team.

They've lost their belief in the club itself IMO.

when i played footy more or less every drill that you gave a handball to someone you had to run behind them or you copped a massive blast

and during training we were told how many times we missed the chance to shepard and the like

a little of this wouldnt hurt

yeah mooney was great today, his kicking for goal was terrible, but his toughness and aggression really showed us how weak we are.

Best move all day was putting PJ on him.

I was watching PJ for most the match and he was really putting alot of effort in.

There is no talk out on the field.

Players handball to stationary teammates, who go for a run and get caught from behind.

Why don't they talk to one another?

Jones would put himself in a winning position, but would get attacked by 3 Geelong players with absolutely no teammates in sight to land a hand.

It's just so disappointing, because these are very basic things that every coach should insist upon. Chasing, shepparding, talking to your teammates.

Nobody can expect us to win with such a large injury list, but for god sake, there is a profound lack of intensity and hunger that has nothing to do with the fact that we're missing key players... or is it that Neita, Robbo, McLean, Bartram and Rivers are the only players who give a damn about winning and about the jumper?!

They should look absolutely heart broken, peed off and disappointed. They don't seem any of the above.

Are they selfish? Content with having made finals? Being paid well for playing footy?

Their lack of teamwork is frightening... i have said it every week so far but they do not do the little things that make a good team... running into space to take defenders, creating options, do the unselfish running, run from behind the ball, lay shepherds, talk to team mates, blocking but the worst in my opinion is the lack of enthusiasm - not congratulating people on kicking goals or doing good work...

I watched the Blues play and they were just awesome - a young team that worked their butts off.. they took chances, they played long and direct footy.. admittedly we have lost our captain but we hardly even provided a contest yesterday!!

honestly, i am so disappointed in the team at the moment but i will continue to go and watch the tripe that is currently being dished up in the hope we can turn it around!!

Carroll went to Mooney at the beginning of the game and immediately got into him physically (as he does evey week). Mooney was well contained early on. Then we moved Carroll onto Hawkins who was just too tall for Carroll. I would have persisted with Fergy, Holland, PJ on Hawkins (in that order). I feel that ND made a blunder in taking Carroll off Mooney.

I watched on forlorn as James McDonald handballed to his teammate in front of the interchange bench in the last quarter and did not even think to shepherd his teammate from his nearby opponent, nor did he chase afterwards to help. That effort from our king of one percenters and captain for the day exemplified the indiviual tripe that has been served up from the team in the first three rounds.

Seeing players mown down from behind because their teammate two metres away didn't think it was important to talk to him, or watching Ben Holland run around like a baby giraffe after three opponents because no teammate would come to his aid - just terrible signs of 22 individuals not prepared to do the dirty work required to win football matches.

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f
