Definitely Not like for like…..

In - Mithen

out - Tarrant

Gay in for West. As much as West has a real hot go she can't kick.

Mithen in for Tarrrant.

Parry can't survive much longer. Contributed nothing in 3 matches

subject to health and safety protocols, Gay and Mithen in. West and Parry out

Has some great footwork but totally butchers every kick. Hopefully she can spend some time with Chocco

Yeah, Parry's been surprisingly disappointing.

Tough to pick ins and outs given how rife COVI- I mean 'health and safety protocols' are.

Some interesting behind the scenes info from the Lil and Ben podcast this week (AFLW Gus and Gawny equivalent).

Gay, Sherriff and Lampard had just moved in as housemates when Gay tested positive in the lead-up to R2. They decided to isolate within the house, and neither Sherriff or Lampard ever tested positive, hence their quicker return. Lots of laughs in this one about that situation, as well as Lily's own isolation:

Yes indeed, we look great on paper.

Plus Adelaide have been hit this week by Covid with Stevie-Lee Thompson, Danielle Ponter and Justine Mules all omitted (good players).  However, Captain Chelsea Randall, toughnut and gun, returns (who could forget her terrifying collision with Eliza McNamara in last year's Prelim) and the excellent Anne Hatchard, who has starred this year and is one of the top midfielders in AFLW, has been ruled fit.  Also one to watch is ex Dee Ash Woodland who tried her hand on the HBF at the Dees but has found her mojo at FF and kicked 10 goals so far this year.  Gaby Colvin you've got her this week !

Meggs is never confident of away wins.  Our goal kicking accuracy is our nemesis but at the home the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, we can do this tomorrow.  Demons by 1 point.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

Melbourne returned to its city citadel, IKON Park, boasting a 10–2 home record and celebrating its 100th AFLW matchwith 3,711 fans creating a finals atmosphere. But in a repeat of Round 11, Brisbane proved too strong, too fit, and too relentless.  They brought their kicking boots: 9 goals, 2 points.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Brisbane

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.
