It’s interesting that they’re trying Bradke down back. He looks like a very lost baby giraffe down there but maybe they’ve decided he has no future as a first ruck?

Quarter Time: Casey dominated the play but the Tigers flooded back and we’re able  to keep the scoring down after the Demons initial 3 goal surge.

Casey Demons 3.0.18 Werribee Tigers 1.2.8

Goals Chandler Grey Weideman

Disposals Melksham 8 Bowey 7 Sparrow Weideman 6

Perhaps a fletcher type project!

Weideman is a far better player when in ruck and up the ground. Just does hold chances when playing at full forward.

just catching up - nearly at quarter time - but i'd say bradtke looks pretty okay behind the ball?

bowey looks a ripper, melksham is everywhere around the pill, and weideman is miles better moving up out of the 50 rather than being an i50 target - you definitely can imagine that they presumed it was going to be weed / sideshow in the forward structure for the mfc before t mac's 'good to see you're not wasting your career anymore' comeback in 2021

declase looks very promising

Quarter time summary
Bowey - smart and clean with disposal
Melk - some good touches
Weid - no real impact
AVB - hardly sighted
Jetta - head knock went off
Daw - Competing well in ruck
Chandler - One goal not much else
Baker - looking ok on wing
Smith - couple of good spoils and a nice mark
Bedford - cant get into game

Casey 20 to 8 inside 50s Werribee flooding back scrappy game

a lot of flopping in this game. reckon the players have been watching too much of the Euro 2020

Weideman poor with second efforts.

Casey’s goal kicking as good as Melbourne’s.

? Sparrow on the ball? He’s been unlucky this year that he’s had a free run without injury but cannot crack a consistent game.  Probably been medi-sub for 4-5 games.

I am finding this very hard to watch. Very messy in forward line.

Yep and Jackson is way better at playing that role so it’s hard seeing him get back in unless some injuries hit

29 -17
Casey wasting possession in their half

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
