I reckon the doggies could be firing all their bullets too soon. If I was a doggies fan i'd prefer to be turning in performances like this later in the season.

Played witches hats for 5 rounds?

Just about, North, Suns, depleted Lions who were forced to stay away for 2 weeks, Overrated Magpies, Eagles who at times put in bad ones away from home.

Brisvegas playing really good Wet Weather footy.
Deliberate oob call in the 2nd Q was a disgrace.

Goal Umpires are Redundant. They never back themselves anymore. A shame

Not impressed with either Saad or Williams as Carlton's prized recruits.

Couldn't believe the fuss about them during trade week.  Saad was talked up as if he was a 5 time All Australian half back.  Jayden Hunt looks better than him.

I’ll play. Freo are complete garbage in Melbourne, Saints are a rabble, GWS had no one on the bench and Geelong should be 0-4.

You can only beat what’s in front of you, dogs have been very impressive.

Im concerned with the margin in the Lions /Essendon game......concerned its not big enough.

This season just gets better.....

I don't mind him as a player and wouldn't have been opposed to trying to lure him back when he was at the Suns but you're right he was touted as a champion and certainly doesn't deserve the accolades.

They have.

Also, they’ve been doing one thing we haven’t. Putting teams away.

I understand what you are saying but we still did not beat crows in the prelim. Why? Not good enough when it really mattered.

I think the issue is 9 rounds in a 14 team comp.

We had a much harder draw than any other team, and finished equal on winds for the year. But the harder draw meant we didn't get to beat up on the new, weak teams and gain percentage, so we were forced to play away finals.

Had the draw been even, we'd probably had finished top 2, had a bye and a nice rest week 1 of the finals,  and a home prelim at fortress Casey which would have meant we'd be odds on favourite for playing in the GF.

I reckon people are underrating the Dogs and overrating the Tigers.

Dogs are far and away the best side this year. We just have to hope they drop off as the year progresses, and we have to hope the Tigers stay right where they are.

Not disputing some of that, the comments I made were in response to poster who said Dogs were impressive, l don't agree with that at the moment.

Footscray have a % of 178 after 5 games.
they deserve some credit

North and Suns have contributed greatly to that under the roof of Marvel, no credit from me at the moment.

What would you prefer they do?

They smash what is put in front of them...

Carltons disposal is dreadful. Improve a bit and they are a chance.

Good to see Daniher booting a few against Bummers.......sink the boots in Joe.

That is the answer I would expect from you.

You need to answer, not me

There are 16 teams who have all looked ordinary at certain stages in the first 5 weeks.
Footscray have been very consistent, so they deserve Respect to this point

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
