These tackles....ferocious attitude tonight

The team look like they're 'angry' about the opportunities they've let slip this year...great to see them showing it through on field actions.

Playing hard football, holding the ball in the forward line, looking like a team that wants to win.

Hanks, Zanker, Lampard, Mcnamara, L Pearce,  Mithin, Gay, Heath, all contributing. Adelaide can't find any space.

At the moment we are controlling the game.

Played two good quarters, keep at it, Go Dees.

Holding Adelaide to 1 goal in a half is a great effort, more of the same thanks girls.

Did Hanks hit the post or did goal ump think it went the wrong side? Looked a goal to me

This is some performance!

Tarrant is very underrated,  has been huge down back.

Mithen is a little brute.

Tyler Hanks is officially my new favourite player. She is an absolute gun!

Zanker has been huge with some of the clearances and just making a lot of metres kicking long.

She was our best last week. And has been awesome again.

Great move playing her as a mid in this game.

Her ability to win hard balls and get really good distance of both feet has been super important.

Our tackling is fierce

I love it

one more quarter....

What, 18 to 3 inside 50's, umpire gives us a junk time goal. Two frees in a row, probably there.

5. 6 to 1. 3

Hore stepped up.

Continuing our style of game.

Go Dees.

18 inside 50’s to 3 that quarter.

just dominant. I eagerly await the men playing the same way.

I have reallt enjoyed this season of AFLW.

The AFL are on a winner in their war with rugby and soccer. The AFLW will only continue to grow in popularity. Meaning there is footy feb to October.

Quite right Binman.

When you watch the girls play locally, NE Vic for me. Very skilled players.

I have already said to naysaying males.

Just wait 5 years. AFWL will bypass NRL and Soccer

In 5 years almost every player in the AFLW will have come up through junior footy like bannon, hanks and mcnamara.

And the standard will be incredible.

You know Hate Kore has the opposition spooked when there are four of them covering the space around her.  Shame we didn't create an alternate option in the gaps that must have left.

Still some problems in our forward line but the persistence in keeping it up there and not giving easy groud away means we're not being punished so much.

As always with this team, I feel like we're just arms length from being all-conquering.

They’ve played for each other tonight. Great cohesion, i don’t want this game to end....brilliant watch.

Will never forget watching lilly mithen kick the winning goal to put us into the PF!

That was a proud moment. This victory keeps the dream alive!

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
