The way I'm reading a lot of these deals is that Essendon, Collingwood and Geelong have been allowed to operate outside of the 7.30 deadline.

Pretty much.

The AfL will justify it,ย but essentially the deals were not done and shouldn't stand.

Apart from the obvious lack of AFL integrity, it probably doesn't really matter

There was a system in place where clubs just had to get an email into the AFL on the deal they were working on before 7.30pm. That's why clubs were allowed to still complete deals after the deadline.

I understand that.

It just makes you wonder why have a deadline if it's not really a hard deadline.

What is the definition of a completed deal? Why should they be allowed to f around for so long ad leave until the end?

Yeah it's a bit bizarre hey? They have over a week to get it done and then people are emailing at 7.29pm to get extra time.

i think just to give it an end, because clubs would still be going for players and trades for days if not weeks for the rest of the year.

Don't forget the AFLย wanted to try and maximise ratings/clicks and having deals fall right at 7:30 to build the suspense.

A doggies supporterย on bigfooty posted on the MFC that we had very good word that we were interested in Nick Hind from the Saints.

Anyone know much about him? All I know is that he is very quick?

?

A poor call in Hind-sight (I feel like this jokes been made before?)

I definitely understand that.

It's all about Gil filling his pockets with ad and tv revenue.
