Could someone please change this thread's title to 'Bombers CONTINUE to implode'? Tail definitely wagging the dog down there at Windy Hill.

essendon-s-review

This part is very similar to what Pert said about us:

"Just understanding exactly what it is - you know, we're not Richmond, we're not some other team. We need to understand the game style that's going to work for us and be able to communicate that to our players, but also to our members and our fans..."They (players) want more probably consistency in game style and, you know, better able to recognise it rather than having it just play out on the field, you're not quite sure how to define it.''

I think they are further behind finals success than us.

Worth noting that Essendon almost certainly tanked the second half of their season, so may be a little more dangerous than they seem.

5W 2L, then 1W 1D 8L.

About round 8, someone in the secret herbs and spices department at AFL House must have tipped them off that Daniher would get them the bonus first rounder matching their existing pick.

Once a couple of injuries to senior players came in they clearly had no reason to do any better in 2020.

Beware, the cheats may be a rabble but they still know how to game the system.

$50 says they finish bottom 4 next season. The list looks terrible without Daniher (injured I know), McKenna and Saad. Draft picks from this year won’t help them.

Let 'em.

As we learned to our cost, when you practice losing games, you become expert at losing games. It's a long long haul back.

I don't what level of involvement he has in the FD but Kevin Sheedy would never allow it

This is interesting too. They continue to back in Dodoro even when they’ve just spent 12 months paying Joe Daniher 800k to rehab and got the same result at the end (with the possible exception of sending him to a much more powerful team).

Nobody wants to deal with them, and as a result they get player scraps. It’s ridiculous, but it couldn’t happen to a finer bunch of muppets. They’ve been going nowhere for years.

I hope they keep backing him in for the next 20 years lol.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
