So bizarre. I can't see the AFL dramatically reducing list/cap sizes now. Not until next year. They must have given some sort indication to the clubs though. What's the hold-up? How are clubs supposed to deal with contracts and such without at least a guide? Feels like some sort of PR management exercise that I can't comprehend the motivation behind. 1 Quote

In the past they’ve turned off the fax machines at 2.00pm but who knows in 2020? The clubs still don’t know about list sizes and the salary cap limit going forward which is a bit of a surprise given that the (usually) loudest club Collingwood has the most at stake in that decision. But the league will make the event a two-day extravaganza by holding the pre-season and rookie drafts the following morning. Quote

It will now stay with the status quo and have one. afl-to-have-one-mid-season-rookie-draft-in-2021 "The 2021 mid-season draft has been tentatively scheduled for June 2 next year while the pre-season supplemental selection period (PSSP) will run from January 6 until March 9. In the week before Christmas clubs can nominate a maximum of six players being considered for the PSSP to train with them from January 6 when club's senior players return". 1 Quote
