Bennell is finished mate, no intensity what so ever.

Trains well though.

I tend to agree. i'd give him one more and a full pre-season to see where he is at. Coming off a multi-year hiatus, need to give him the benefit of doubt that his first year was always going to be like this.

Basically has been injury free, played a few games etc - we all knew he wasnt going to tear the house down.

120 point spread for me we could win by 10 goals or lose by 10 goals but +1 would be fine thanks.

Is that 17 changes in 3 games?

Nothing to see here, all under

Basically we need to be ruthless and cut quite a few from the list almost to the point of rebuilding. At this stage we seem to be going in circles.

People said the same things re 6 changes before the St. Kilda game. Thought it would be obvious to most the side looked flat and tired during the Swans game and now it's a four day break, needed a freshen up. Can't understand why Lockhart is not playing though.

Bennell is a punt. The club haven’t risked a whole lot but there’s plenty of upside if he comes right. There are a few others on the list who have hit their ceiling and should be let go before Bennell. Worth persevering with for another year imv.

Probably the best lot of changes we have made this year, however Smith should not be in the squad, and he should be in the forward line if selected. Unfortunately Goodwin has made these changes too late in the year when he really needed to make them earlier in the year, his biggest fault is that he is too slow to make change. It gives me relief to see Jones, Spargo, Wagner and Omac out of the side,  4 massive spuds [I still love Jones though]

Finally we may not have a slow plodder on the wing for once!! Ain't it amazing to see Goodwin elect genuine wingers to play on the wing

Yep and yep. Not quite sure why its taken so long to inject some pace though

His intensity is a worry but he seems to be the only one who can hit a target in the fwd line

No. I think they are great changes and you see these players will give 100% instead of the spuds we had in last week

Wow you're more confident of a good outcome this week than me.

What's more they are ever decreasing circles deever and we run the risk of finishing with our head totally up own [censored].

i just can't see how we're going to compete with their depth of midfielders

fyfe, mundy, walters, brayshaw, serong, cerra

vs

oliver, petracca, viney, langdon

we're going to be VERY reliant upon melksham, avb, anb, tomlinson, baker and perhaps even salem and rivers contributing well

Does anyone else question anb being in the team?

weekly but he wasnt the worst player out there last week and probably deserves his spot for this week only. + no other alternatives (i imagine spargo is more of a management than a dropped) i like his pressure. i want to see him get some continuity in the side

Nothing to see here, all under control.............................??????

There ain't nothing under control in Demonland

What do we lose from Jones, O Mac, Harmes, Wagner, Brown and Spargo - very little based on recent output.  Gus is the only one that hurts but he has had an OK season only

coming in with have experience and hardness with Vanders and Hibbo. excitement and speed with Kozzi and Bedford. and who knows with Baker, Hunt and Pruess

Go DEMONS!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
