Yep gave pies 2 direct goals and fumbles alot.

Doesn't like body contact much I don't think

Couple of coach killers but still played part in team defence.

Tomlinson reminds me of a Neeld-era player. Can't see it.

Agree but has a role to play. It’s not on the wing.  Can fit in at CHB imo

Im hoping he gets better with some continuity because he wasn't like that at Adelaide, at he's best he was backing into contests and taking intercept marks, still young enough to build on, although we payed through the roof for him

He doesnt like front on contact, not many players do, but he will avoid it. He is a handy third tall. Not much more or less.

I would give him a whole preseason of boxing, has to learn to play dirty, you can't have defenders who are scared to get hurt in big finals. I appreciate he may be a great 3rd tall, intercepter, but he can still learn to hold he's own in a one on one.

I’ve seen Lever commit to a number of courageous acts through the last few weeks, even in the Port debacle.. so I think it’s a bit unfair to say he shirks contact.

Everyone can have off games, think he’s coming along nicely.

Brayshaw - an important connector

Salem - possessions finally effective

Langdon - just keeps giving

Petracca - excellent, not elite

Oliver - prolific and vital

May - a solid rock

Fritsch - better second half

Viney - normal bullocking performance

Hibberd - continued solid form

Preuss - was not disgraced

Melksham - took his chances

Lockhart - brave and smart

vandenBerg - glad he’s ours

Jones - cunning but slow

Weideman  - making an impact

Harmes - disciplined team first

Spargo - great first half

Tomlinson - was rarely sighted

Sparrow - better each game

McDonald - fumbly but improving

Lever - not his best

Pickett - couldn’t get going

Spot on Joeboy however I would have put in for Tomlinson - "Did his job". Was at ground and his defensive positioning was good blocking paths where the Pies wanted to go. Plenty of defensive punches in the packs.

Wouldn’t listen to Garry Lyon to much, we have to win by over a hundred points for him to give us any credit

the time when Gary was going off and giving it to Lever it was actually Hibberd that gave away the holding free kick. He blamed the wrong Mustachio brother

No one saying he shirks contests.

@praha - re: Tomlinson.  He certainly hasn't set the world alight since coming here, but I feel for him a bit.  Was recruited to play on the wing, which we did for a few rounds before we forced him into a back up ruck role.  Got dropped, a bit unfairly if you ask me but to each their own, and has then been brought back into the side as a key defender.

Poor bloke hasn't had the opportunity to settle into a role yet.  I haven't seen him make any glaring errors and he was part of a back six that dominated last night, so I'm happy to give him more time.

Joeboy - good summary this week!

Petracca    The Big Show .

Clarry          Is The Architect

Brayshaw   Form of 2018

Viney          lead us well

VDB           The hard edge

Langdon   The great recruit

Preuss       Sat on Grundy.

Spargo      Played best game

Sparrow     Boy can play

Salem       Held his own

May           Solid as always

Jones       Played his role

Lockhart  Was very serviceable.

Lever        slightly down today

The rest   All pitched in.

He was the number 1 intercept marking player in the comp and had just played in a GF when we got him so of course we payed alot.

It's gonna pay off though, our backline is the best its ever been

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
