Harmes was good last week at half back. I think they will persist with him.

Most looked ok to good last week W.  And so they should given the team we were playing hadn't won a match to that point and of their 22 more than half (13 to be exact) were rookies vs our 5.

Lockhart is playing in a similar defensive role as a rookie and doing just as well, even a tad better imv.

The obvious in is Rivers for Harmes who moves into the mid to replace Jack.  They play a similar game in terms of their capability to push forward and impact on the scoreboard.

Harmes is terrific, sure. Harmes is a good tagger. Harmes surprises with his height - capable of good spoils and contested marks. Harmes ain't no backman.

Harmes needs to go back to midfield and forward duties, creating opportunities and forward line 'gets'.

This post needs more 'Harmes'

Yep round 1 3 of his touches.... resulted in goals to West Coast!

Yeah, cleverly done, mate. Viney and Langdon were the only two to show up that game.

How about look at when our forwardline and forward half has functioned properly. Spargo was a big part of that.

so i'm now presuming, if preuss ain't in radelayed...

out: viney, gawn, avb, anb
in: hannan, jordon, t mac, pickett

They should give Tom McDonald a run on the wing. He’d be better than both Langdon and Tomlinson.
He might run into form maybe even kick a goal.

At the moment TMac can barely run at all.

His form is poor but I suspect there an underlying medical/injury issue. It's more than form when you turn from an elite athlete to a plodding draughthorse.

Ok when the team was firing he played a part, and was "Handy" no more no less! If players like Spargo are getting a game then we are really behind the eight ball. Many others who have got pace would easily be prefered. I have mentioned others Jordan, Bedford, Rivers, Hunt. Get games into them. Thats my take

I think they added Lever and Melksham to the leadership group a few weeks back, so assume it would be one of them. I’d prefer May, personally.

Do you believe in systems in sport, mate? All teams need role players. Spargo needs to improve on getting more of the ball and penetration in his kicking. Spargo is a kid too. I understand you don't like Spargo, but he showed a lot in his first year and had a dip, like many of our guys, last year - his second year. We have a dearth of pressure half forwards and have too many guys we're trying to run through half back at the moment. Adding Jordon at this stage seems a strange move to me.

If they don't play Preuss firstly I don't know why he is on the list and secondly it would be a big mistake to play Tommy he is no ruckman. I don't think Jackson is ready to shoulder the ruck load yet.

Or .... to put it another way picket - " I'm half the man I never was "

but isn't preuss one of the 29 NOT in adelaide?

or was it just general demonland scuttlebutt

Is already being in Adelaide a prerequisite to playing? If he’s in the Qld hub, surely he can just fly in.

true

i dunno, i'm just presuming we have the bfg for no reason and they'll stick with the more 'mobile' option

although personally i would think that preuss would be more 'mobile' than t mac so who knows

Given the way Max looked in the game against Adelaide, surely you would have him there for insurance!!!

Yeah I mean our opponent are flying in. I can’t imagine it would be too difficult to get an extra man on a charter flight.
The issue I have is, given Gawn was sore going to Adelaide and carrying an injury, why wouldn’t they take Preuss to Adelaide? If they haven’t it suggests to me they won’t want him to play.

This is one of the single worst takes I've ever seen on Demonland, and that's saying something.

Ive seen it suggested a fair few times in recent weeks.  The problem is that some people are thinking of 2018 T mac, not the current one with a turning circle of a Boeing 747 and who has lost all his leap and agility.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
