I would drop Oliver for this game. Not even joking. He’d be out next week.

Yep. He needs to be on notice to wake up, and get real.

Ultimately? Yes.

His game plan allows super quick kicks to come into our defence.

He picked Smith when he clearly isn't ready.

No, it was combination of errors forward of The ball, all good to blame the coach when Oliver gives a terrible ball

Terrible kick from Oliver before but he's not the problem. The commentators on Fox and 7 have gunned for him all day. He's won a heap of contested possessions.

Disagree. He’s been average at best. Disposals have been all over the place.

Clarry.... easily one of the worst games ive seen from him sadly.

B&F went to his head a little over the pre - season?

Not just the best and fairest I suspect.?

Think he was spent. He clearly wanted to turn this game around and was busting a nut in the last quarter. Was happy with his intent today to be honest.

Go home and play fortnite Clarry, instead of working on your craft.

Bunch of deadbeats.

Hibberd best game in 2 yrs

Was very good last week also.  If only all our blokes played with his manic attack and endeavour.

Average? He has been a disgrace and we only started to look decent once we got him out of the midfield.

This club just continues to bring misery to its members ... we continue to go backwards! Clearly Goodwin has a game plan which isn’t working & hate to say but we will witness another wasted list of players & another decade of nothingness!

Clayton Oliver? Jack Viney? Jake Melksham? Jake Lever? Christian Salem? Tomlinson? Simon Goodwin? All auditioning for string quartet on the SS Titanic.

It all statrs from the middle the bounce.

If we start cleanly with composure, it rolls on.

If we start with a panic ball that t rolls on.

Oliver is starting us off in a panic.

He shouldn’t be in the car. The conversation should be ABOUT him

I’m angry.

Angry that this drivel is served up week after week .

Our recruiting and coaching philosophy is win the contested ball and the rest will happen.

Well let me tell ya.

It ain’t happening!

Why is it Goodwin's fault when every player bar maybe Hibberd made a fundamental skill error that sometimes resulted in a goal to the opposition

The first two hit outs of the last quarter were won by max Gawn. Viney bombs the first result in to a Richmond player. The second was also bombed in to a Richmond player. This coach has got to tell them to stop doing that.

When is Oliver going to learn how to kick?

Its his lack of movement.

He will not run and move enough,  kicks off a step,  etc.  He's lazy.

Get Clarkson. That’s what the $mill before Christmas ? needs to be

Otherwise we continue to be nothing

He wont be coming to coach this rabble SW.  But we certainly need to get our hands on a coach who can coach (Lyon?), along with a genuine KF (Cameron).

It looks like he’s keen to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible like it’s a hot potato.

I quite like Goody actually. I just hate his current gameplan. I pray he changes it.

Why is it Goodwin's fault when every player bar m maybe Hibberd made a fundamental still error that sometimes resulted in a goal to the opposition

Exactly, and his direction of the ball s either low to feet, or high,  above the head.

He's too cocky by half, and has stopped putting in his old physical work.  That hit on Selwood back in 2018 final,  where Bt and everyone said,  "boy oh boy, did you see that",..... nothing since from Oli.

He is the one coaching them and it’s not getting any better .

Ultimately it rests with him.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
