Juddy's coming home!!!

Unless we tank and win the spoon, Judd being a 'free agent' does nothing for us.

If Judd decides to leave West Coast, we need not only big cards for negotiations, but also Salary Cap space and money to throw at him.

He is vastly over-rated. Arguably, he isnt even the most influential footy player going around. Jono Brown is often regarded by many as the best. Judds market value is worth more than his actual value and West Coast would want Mclean, Sylvia and a first round pick. I mean he isnt that good!

I reckon they'd take Bruce, Sylvia and a first rounder, seems alright to me.

He is that good Freak, just think of having McLean and Judd in the same midfield...

What the hell?

Are you serious?

For the first time in my football followng life, I have seen a player that is hands down the best player in the competition. There is no question at all. he is a marvel, and nobody is close to him

My offer to the Eagles

The Eagles would ask for no less than McLean and 2 first rounders

And the Demons would have to seriously look at it

After considering our list, I don't want him for what it would cost in comparison to what he would bring to the list.

Besides he wont improve our list as much as say a champion CHF... I would even settle for one that could kick 20-30 goals a year and provide a target.

All that said, if he walks on the Eagles, demands to come to Melbourne and we get him cheap, ok!

Trying to get this into perspective for some people (mainly my self), Back in the day if it was suggested that we trade Jollly, Thomo Woe and Farmer for one player what would have been the responce?

What about if we were to trade the net sum of what we got for the previously mentioned players?

Is it considered the same value?

This is a completely pointless discussion, but still, there is no way we're trading McLean.

He is the only untouchable in the side.

Sylvia, 2 picks, and then maybe rubbish sweetners like Miller and Yze (ffs people, are you serious... YZE? ) will not do.

15 clubs will be throwing their house, left leg and eyeballs at West Coast. Unless Judd says "make a deal happen with Melbourne", the chances of us getting him are tiny.

This is a completely fruitless discussion. It's nice and romantic and all but it's never going to happen.

Firstly, West Coast will never let him go. Secondly, to pick up a superstar, you have to trade superstars. If we offered anything involving Miller or Yze for Judd, even coupled with other niceties, West Coast would laugh. You can add as many mediocre players' names to that list as you like, none of them equate to Judd.

The problem is that for a player of Judd's qualities, there's not a single thing we could offer that would even come close to filling the void that he'd leave. No, not even Brock.

West Coast would trade for Brock + TJ + draft picks, but we would never pay such a high price.

I don't think that acquiring his services is completely out of the question, but with suggestions like Miller, Yze, Ferguson, Godfrey, Ward etc... it certainly won't happen.

As I said, the only way to get Judd to Melbourne, is if he requests to come to our club (like Aka), and West Coast decided to do the right thing by him and honour his request. Knowing West Coast though, it won't happen.

To me, this news has entirely different implications...

Firstly, i dont believe WC would ever let Judd go, and even if they did, as other posters have illuded to...we would have to give up an arm and a leg (consider what sort of players have been demanding 2 first round picks these past years). Instead, i take this as a 9month reminder from the eagles that they will be unloading some other top players...imagine how hard it will be to keep those champons together with a 1million dollar player under the salary cap. We should go into the trade period with a proactive approach, targeting another of their players and having a potential deal we would offer already prepared.

Realistically though, i think judd will be all sewn up before trade week, but this doesnt change the fact that some other big name eagles may need to be sacrificed.

Id be interested to read thoughts on who we would like to get over to the dees and at what potential cost

He will only leave if a few players have a few more discretions throughout the year

He will simply say he doesnt want to be with a club surrounded by drama's like drugs

May have to trade our pirst pick (pick 16) to carlton with Yze or Miller

Then trade that pick (maybe pick 3) with Sylvia and Robertson for Judd

Dunn then takes Robbo's role

It will never happen however this is who i think we should trade for him:

Picks 1 + 2, Green + Yze + Miller + Jones + Sylvia + Wornock

I dont want to loose the picks, Jones or Wornock but happy to loose Yze, green, miller and sylvia...but west coast wouldnt want em.

At the end of the day hes not worth the loss, as good as he is. Jones will be a star and McLean could well be close to his skill. As big kev would say "Im Excited!".

West coast will never give him up but if he wants to come home (like thompson) it could happen. Clubs like Carlton, Kangas would be prepared to give up more. If it happens it would be the best trade in AFL history i would think

Westcoast wont trade a player such as judd to anyside competing for the same rungs of the ladder like us, they'd be that much weaker & we'd be that much stronger, like a two player turnaround...

That is insulting to both West Coast and Chris Judd

Wouldnt that be 'special' tho. A mirrical...or more like a dream if that happend

A trade with Melbourne could only involve either McLean, Johnstone or Bruce or some sort of combination of these guys plus picks.

We obviously don't want to trade McLean so that leaves the other two. Perhaps TJ and Bruce alone might do it, who knows, but it would depend on some other factors, ie whether Judd is prepared to leave them for nothing ie preseason draft and obviously if he actually decides to leave in the first place.

Not even close to being enough.

As I've said you can't add lesser players up to equal a champion player. Ever. Especially not that many, West Coast have no use for (at least) Yze, Miller, Sylvia or Warnock. They'd just be wasting space on their list. The only way West Coast might stop and think is if we had a player worth the equivalent of Chris Judd to offer. We don't.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
